ਵਾਟਾਂ ਲੰਮੀਆ ਤੇ ਰਸਤਾ ਪਹਾੜ ਦਾ,
ਤੁਰੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਦੋ ਲਾਲ ਜੀ।
ਸਰਸਾ ਨਦੀ ਤੇ ਵਿਛੋੜਾ ਪੈ ਗਿਆ,
ਉਸ ਵੇਲੇ ਦਾ ਸੁਣ ਲਓ ਹਾਲ ਜੀ।
Night of 5th and 6th Poh !
This is when Dhan Dhan Guru Dev Patshah Shri Guru Gobind Singh Ji left Anandpur Sahib along with their family and Singhs.
A place where 4 prince were born , where Khalsa was born in 1699.
Everything was left behind. It’s the start of 8 very sacred days in Sikh calendar.
From Parivar Vichorra ( Family separated ), martyrdom ( Shaheedian ) of Vadde Sahibzade , Singhs and Bibi Sharan Kaur Ji at Chamkaur Di Garhi, Chotte Sahibzade attaining Shaheedian at Sarhind , within these 8 days Dhan Dhan Dasham Pita Ji sacrificed everything they had but Khalsa .
Next few days when we are snuggled up in our warm cozy houses with heat on spending time with family, please spare a thought for our Shaheed. Keep them in your thoughts while doing your Simran and Path.
