J&K Declared Best UT for Digital Health Excellence at NHA Chintan Shivir held in Bhuvaneshwar Odisha on 19-20 Jan 2026.The prestigious award was conferred by , recognising Jammu and Kashmir’s exemplary performance in implementing the Model Facility framework under ABDM and setting new benchmarks in digital healthcare integration. This all is possible under able guidance of Secretary Health and Medical Education Dr Syed Abid Rasheed Shah (IAS) and MD ABDM J&K Ananth Dwiwedi (IAS). ABDM J&K continues its efforts towards digitising health care in J&K.

The teams were guided to properly maintain line listing of families, with special emphasis on family folders. A brief review meeting was held with the Deputy Commissioner, Ganderbal, Mr. Jatin Kishore (IAS), to discuss the current status of ABHA saturation in District Ganderbal.

During the meeting, the ABDM team apprised the Deputy Commissioner of the progress made so far and highlighted the key challenges being faced by the health teams in achieving full ABHA saturation across the district.

Taking cognizance of the issues raised, the Deputy Commissioner issued on-the-spot directions to the Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Ganderbal, to treat the matter on top priority and ensure immediate corrective measures.

Subsequently, the CMO Ganderbal convened a meeting of all concerned stakeholders, including block-level officers and field staff. During the meeting, necessary instructions were issued, and block-wise ABHA generation targets were assigned to ensure focused and accountable implementation.

The CMO assured that concrete measures are being put in place and emphasized that a visible improvement in ABHA generation will be observed from tomorrow onwards.

The district administration reiterated its commitment to achieving ABHA saturation in a time-bound manner and ensuring effective coordination among all stakeholders.

Capacity Building Training on ABDM Held in Anantnag. As discussed and planned earlier with the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Anantnag, a capacity-building training session for ASHA workers and other stakeholders was
organized to strengthen the implementation of the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM). The training was organized by Chief Medical Officer, Anantnag, Mr. Khalid Ahmad Ahmad. The ABDM Team Kashmir sensitized ASHA coordinators, ASHA facilitators, health educators, and community health officers on various components of ABDM. Around 75 participants attended the training session. Special emphasis was laid on the use of the JK Sehat App, and participants were trained on its functionality and its role in supporting ABDM initiatives.
After the completion of the training, a brief question-and-answer session was held to address the grievances and queries of the participants. The importance of generating ABHAs on a daily basis and regular use of the JK Sehat App was strongly stressed. Both the participants and the CMO expressed the need for more such capacity-building sessions in the future. The training concluded with the distribution of information, education, and communication (IEC) posters related to ABDM among the ASHA workers and facilitators.
