Today, Ms. Mehvish Mumtaz (IEC Manager) and Dr. Nighat Hamid (Project Coordinator, ABDM) visited NTPHC Jawahar Nagar, as communicated by Dr. Majid (Project Manager, ABDM), to review and encourage ABHA ID generation activities.

During the visit, they met Dr. Foziya (Medical Officer) and other staff members present at the facility and discussed various strategies to further enhance ABHA generation. The staff mentioned that ASHA workers are already engaged in ABHA generation activities at the community level. The team suggested involving support staff within the facility as well to strengthen the efforts.

Since ASHA workers had reported difficulties using the mobile application, hands-on training on the ABHA generation portal was provided. The officials explained that the portal helps verify whether an ABHA ID already exists for an individual before creating a new one.

The staff also informed that most of the population in their area already possesses ABHA cards. During the visit, the ABDM officials observed that several patients were carrying their physical ABHA cards while visiting the facility.

Yesterday, the Deputy Commissioner Srinagar chaired a review meeting on ABHA saturation, in which the ABDM team also participated. During the meeting, the administration instructed the ABDM team and CMO office Srinagar to visit selected health facilities to assess the ABHA card generation and also identify challenges faced at the ground level.
During the field assessment, it was observed that front line workers were facing difficulty in determining whether an ABHA card already existed for a beneficiary or if a new card has been created on the spot.
To address this issue, the ABDM team has requested all concerned facility heads to instruct frontline health workers to use the official ABDM web portal for ABHA ID generation. The portal not only helps verify whether an ABHA ID already exists or a new one is being created, but also enables workers to accurately track the number of fresh ABHA IDs generated each day. This will help avoid confusion regarding the daily count of ABHA cards and ensure clarity on whether an ID is newly created or already existing.

Today, the ABDM team visited Block Headquarters Khanyar (CHC Gousia) and held a meeting with the BMO/Medical Superintendent, BMEO, CHO, and other concerned staff regarding ABHA ID saturation, Scan & Share implementation, and EMR generation.
The BMO assured that they will boost the ABHA ID creation, Scan & Share, and EMR generation on priority and also the block team will actively work on strengthening these components.
Key points discussed during the visit:
• Establishment of separate Scan & Share counters and deployment of dedicated staff at these counters to assist patients in generating Scan & Share tokens.
• Integration of Laboratory, IPD, and Pharmacy modules with the HMIS for seamless data exchange and improved service delivery, ensuring that health records are linked with patients’ ABHA IDs. Procurement of the necessary IT infrastructure and equipment required for this integration was also emphasized.
• Creation of ABHA IDs for beneficiaries across different health portals, and ensuring ABHA ID generation for children aged 0–5 years on the U-WIN portal during RI sessions.
• Maintenance of family folders at the primary care level to capture details of all citizens along with their ABHA IDs, enabling proper line-listing and tracking.
