*J&K and Ladakh HCLSC conducted 1st National Lok-Adalat of 2026*
*_Out of 298 cases taken up, 31 were settled, with a settlement amount of Rs 1,84,88,448 (Rupees One Crore Eighty Four Lacs Eighty Eight Thousand Four Hundred Forty Eight Only)_*
The Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh High Court Legal Services Committee (HCLSC), under the guidance of the National Legal Services Authority and Jammu and Kashmir Legal Services Authority, successfully conducted the 1st National Lok Adalat of 2026 at the High Court of J&K and Ladakh, Srinagar and Jammu wings today on March 14, 2026.
The event was successfully conducted under the visionary leadership of Hon'ble Mr. Justice Arun Palli, Hon’ble the Chief Justice, High Court of J&K and Ladakh (Patron-in-Chief, J&K Legal Services Authority), Hon'ble Mr. Justice Sanjeev Kumar, Judge High Court of J&K and Ladakh, (Executive Chairman, J&K Legal Services Authority) and Hon'ble Mr. Justice Sanjay Dhar, Judge High Court of J&K and Ladakh, (Chairman J&K and Ladakh High Court Legal Services Committee).
Four benches were constituted, with Judicial Officers and lawyers working together to resolve cases, 1st bench was presided by Mr. Adnan Sayeed, Spl. Judge Anti-Corruption, (CBI Cases), Srinagar, along with Mr. Omais Kawoos Advocate (Panel Lawyer), HCLSC, Srinagar as bench member, 2nd bench was presided by Mr. Dinesh Gupta, 3rd Addl. D&SJ, Srinagar, with Mr. Shahbaz Sikander, Advocate (Panel Lawyer), HCLSC, Srinagar, as bench member, 3rd bench was presided by Mr. Pawan Kumar Sharma, Special Judge Anti-Corruption (CBI Cases), Jammu , along with Ms. Mandeep Reen (Panel Lawyer), HCLSC, Jammu, as bench member and 04th bench was presided by Mr. Amarjit Singh Langeh, P.O Fast Track Court, Jammu, along with Mr. Meharban Singh Advocate (Panel Lawyer), HCLSC, Jammu, as bench member, who worked tirelessly to dispose of various cases.
Out of 298 cases taken up, 31 were settled, with a settlement amount of Rs 1,84,88,448. The cases included MACT and Bank Recovery cases.
