Exploring Psychiatry: A Day with Psychology Students! ✨🧠

We had the pleasure of hosting students and faculty from Bhartiya Vidya Bhavan’s College of Psychology for a field visit to the Department of Psychiatry, SMIMER, Surat.

Key Activities & Learnings:
✅ Tour of the Psychiatry Ward – Understanding inpatient care, involuntary admissions, and the role of psychologists in psychiatric treatment.
✅ OPD Exposure – Observing consultations, case discussions, and learning about interdepartmental collaboration.
✅ ECT Room Demonstration (for posted patients) – Insights into biological treatments.
✅ Interactive discussions on rehabilitation facilities and different psychiatric setups.
✅ A visit to the Seminar Room & Library – Encouraging academic learning in psychiatry.
✅ Concluding with a lecture & discussion session addressing key psychiatric concepts.

This visit was an enriching experience for all, strengthening interdisciplinary collaboration and paving the way for future mental health professionals. 🌿💡
