Plantar fasciitis is a common condition that occurs when the plantar fascia, a thick band of tissue that runs along the bottom of the foot and connects the heel bone to the toes, becomes inflamed or strained. This condition is typically characterized by stabbing or burning pain, especially when taking the first steps in the morning or after long periods of rest. Wear supportive footwear, maintain a healthy body weight, stretch your calf muscles and Achilles tendon regularly, and avoid excessive activities that place stress on the feet to prevent this condition.
