A Blood Donation Camp was successfully conducted on 21st March 2026 at Brakes India, Thervoykandigai SIPCOT Industrial Park, in association with Vels Medical College & Hospital.

The initiative witnessed enthusiastic participation from employees, who came forward to contribute towards saving lives through voluntary blood donation. All donors underwent proper medical screening, and the collection process was carried out under safe and hygienic conditions by our dedicated medical team.

Such initiatives play a vital role in ensuring the availability of blood for emergency medical needs while also spreading awareness about the importance of donation.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all donors for being a part of this noble cause.

Vels Medical College & Hospital has been supporting healthcare outreach through the Vels – Sevabharathi Free Mobile Medical Unit for the past three years, providing essential medical services to rural residents and farmers in Tiruvallur district.

Continuing this effort, a new Mobile Medical Unit, supported by Vels Medical College & Hospital, was inaugurated by Hon’ble Governor of Tamil Nadu, Thiru. Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar, on 14 March 2026 at Lok Bhavan, Chennai.

Through this initiative, Vels Medical College & Hospital continues its commitment to bringing accessible and compassionate healthcare to people in need.

Vels Medical College & Hospital organised a Free Reading Glasses Distribution Programme at Annupampattu Village in collaboration with Herrenknecht, Germany, as part of its community healthcare outreach.

Beneficiaries first underwent vision screening by the Department of Ophthalmology, VMCH, after which reading glasses were provided based on individual eye examination results.

The initiative brought great happiness to the villagers, helping many of them read and carry out their daily activities with greater ease.

The programme was coordinated by the Department of Marketing in association with the Department of Ophthalmology, VMCH.

Free General Surgery & General Medicine Camp at Karani Village

Karani Village, 28 February 2026 — Vels Medical College & Hospital, in association with Aram Sei Charitable Trust, conducted a Free General Surgery and General Medicine Camp as part of its ongoing rural healthcare outreach.

The General Surgery team offered consultations and guidance for common surgical conditions, while the General Medicine team conducted health check-ups for common illnesses, diabetes, hypertension, and other general health concerns. Free medicines were distributed to all beneficiaries.

The camp witnessed an encouraging response from the residents, reinforcing the continued commitment to bringing quality healthcare closer to rural communities.
