JAINISM, one of the oldest religions of India, based on the teachings of the TIRTHANKARS (spiritual teachers), the last being LORD MAHAVIRA (599–527 BCE). Jainism emphasizes ahimsa (non-violence), truth, non-possessiveness, compassion, and self-discipline.

One of the most beautiful practices in Jainism is saying “MICHHAMI DUKKADAM”

The phrase “Michhami Dukkadam” comes from the Prakrit language.

It literally means :

“May all the bad deeds (wrong actions) be forgiven.”

This is spoken especially during SAMVATSARI the last day of Paryushan festival, as a way to let go of ego, heal relationships, and purify the soul through forgiveness and creating peace within and around us...

On this day, Jains ask forgiveness from family, friends, and all living beings for any harm caused during the year.

It is not just a greeting, but a deep practice of humility and cleansing the soul.

It helps to release anger, grudges, and karmic bonds.

It lightens the soul and opens the path toward peace, love, and liberation (moksha).
