“Age is not a bar to get treatment for Cancer” Operated a old female more than 85 years of age with Tongue Cancer with scoliosis with only 38kgs body weight. What impressed me is the family who brought her to me and said plz give her at least 2/3 more years so that we can live with her happily. Though she was not able to sit and talk properly, so frail and weak, her family knew that it is cancer but they wanted her to get operated. Many families even don’t bother to get treatment even if its early stage just becoz they think its cancer and he or she will die ultimately. But this kind of support really helps patient also to get back to track easily.

Today’s Case - Rare form of Oral Cavity Cancer - Spindle Cell Carcinoma in a female initially removed outside as periapical cyst which came out as Spindle cell tumour. Patient later came to me for definitive surgery (Mandibulectomy with flap Reconstruction). Though its aggressive form of cancer but prognosis is excellent if diagnosed early.

Entering a hall full of Men only without even a single woman except a small girl child sitting in first row in the hall on the day of International Women’s Day is full of mixed feelings, like should I feel proud of myself or its a matter of deep thought that 2025 going on and we are not having females as representatives of our society in small towns and villages. I asked the gathering about the same question and told the Organiser that I’ll be very happy if I visit again and see the women sitting here also, he assured me that this will be done. It hurts me when I see the female representation like this. The talk was not meant for men only and equal awareness is required for men and women. I think talking about it is important for me so I did and I believe you also agree with me for the same.
