THE WARRIOR TRIBE asked Dr. Darshana about her experience working in the pandemic and her thoughts on social distancing.

"Hello all! I'm dr. Darshana Udapurkar, currently doing my pg in Anaesthesiology at k. J. Somaiya medical college, mumbai and working in covid icu in the current scenario of pandemic.
Like me, most of the frontline warrior must be feeling this, thus sharing this post. 🙂
Stay safe, the battle is not yet won.
It's been over 7 months in this circus, these awful times, these draining duties, these depressing ICU calls, watching people suffer and not be able to do much and putting our hopes in "still in research- treatment".
Well, it's not because doctors are getting a lot of time they are indulging in arts and crafts and singing and dancing! That are doing it to keep their sanity intact in these depressing times.
Few people now think it's a scam, a big scam that the virus doesn't really exist, that the numbers are lying, that people are not really dying at all, that healthcare workers are just having fun wearing this costume and suffocating masks and showing up to work!
If not these words but actions of people in surrounding are well suggestive of this kinda thinking. We can see them not wearing masks, not maintaining social distance, conducting huge gatherings, spitting on road etc!!
These things are only putting more and more burden on our fragile healthcare system.
Well, "unethical " people are present in all professions, aren't they? But that doesn't justify the lack of care and precautions!
And guess what?! 90% of the careless people will survive as if they were right but the remaining who will suffer because of them, we doctors and healthcare workers will be there for them just like we were for the last 6 months, that's our job and we chose it!
But when you still have a choice, make a wise one, coz if one doesn't like breathing through a mask then one will definitely hate breathing through a ventilator machine!!
P.s. : Everyone deserves a break once in a while! In the pic, a doctor having a power nap before the storm! 🙂
