Severe allergic reaction after using hair dye. Itching with swelling of the face and neck, sticky discharge on the scalp, difficulty combing hair, rash on the lower neck.
Most hair dyes contain paraphenylenediamine (PPD), which is the most common allergen in hair dyes.
Other irritants such as ammonia and resorcinol are also responsible for allergic reactions.
So if someone has sensitive skin, it is better to avoid dyeing their hair..
