Monsoon makes India lush—and raises dengue risk. In 2024, India logged 233,519 cases and 297 deaths from dengue (Govt. of India, NCVBDC).
Globally, about half the world’s population is at risk, with 100–400 million infections each year (WHO).
Dengue mosquitoes breed in clean, stagnant water and bite in the daytime, with peaks at dawn and dusk—so protection must be daily.
✅ Once a week: empty/scrub coolers, plant trays, buckets; cover tanks; clear drains. (NCVBDC prevention guidance)
✅ Shield up: use repellent (DEET/picaridin), wear long sleeves, install screens/nets.
✅ If fever + body ache/pain behind eyes: hydrate, use paracetamol, and avoid ibuprofen/aspirin due to bleeding risk; seek care early (WHO).
This monsoon, a 10-minute weekly cleanup plus smart protection can break the chain—at home, at work, everywhere.
