Many children on the autism spectrum show stronger skills in structured settings at therapy centres than at home.
This means the child has the ability; often the difference is in the structure and routines at home, not in the child.
When parents observe what teachers are doing, bring a similar structure home and slowly take charge instead of relying only on professionals, children often start showing the same skills and behaviours at home as well.

Many children with autism do not naturally understand real-life dangers like traffic.
That is why, under safe and controlled conditions, we must show them what danger looks and feels like.

Simple guided experiences for example, a parent slowly bringing a scooter close while the child is taught to stop and respond can help the child learn to connect sounds, movement and the idea of β€œdanger”.
The goal is clear: give exposure, but always with safety in our hands.

When we send a child to play school, the main goal is socialization, not screen time.

In the first few days, you can request to sit in and β€œshadow” your child for a while so they feel safe and slowly get used to the class.

Later, during TV or screen time, try stepping out and letting your child stay with the group, so they learn to be comfortable with other children and the school environment without depending on gadgets.

Leaky gut is a term used for increased permeability of the intestinal lining. Normally, tightly packed cells form a barrier, but in some children, this barrier may become more porous. It is found that in children with leaky gut, small fragments of dietary proteins like gluten (wheat) and casein (milk) may cross this barrier more easily.

Autism does not get β€œfixed” by therapy and money alone. Therapy is important, but it is only one part of the picture.

From a clinical point of view, what truly matters is how early and how consistently we intervene. The earlier we start structured intervention, especially before 5 years (and ideally around 3 years), the better the chances of supporting the child’s development.

Money, affordability and the number of sessions are not the main treatment in themselves. They are only resources to support a process. Until parents understand this and actively participate in that process, a large part of the child’s potential may remain unused.

Research is ongoing and future treatments may improve, but at present, our best option is to follow evidence based therapies and systems with sincerity and consistency in the early years.

Many parents are unsure about taking their child to busy places like malls or grocery stores for β€œsocial exposure.” The noise, crowds and demands for chocolate or toys can feel overwhelming for both child and parent.

Clinically, the goal is not to avoid these environments, but to enter them with a clear strategy. For example, use a quieter entrance, avoid the chocolate aisle, and plan a simple, predictable route inside the store.

Start with very short visits, such as 10 minutes, and then slowly increase the duration to 12, 15 or 20 minutes over time. With repeated, graded exposure, most children gradually become less overwhelmed, show better adaptability and begin to understand what to expect in these settings.

The key is planned exposure with extra supervision, not complete avoidance. This helps the child build real-life coping skills and prevents over fixation on only one safe environment.

screen on = now I eat.

Eating, however, is driven by hunger, not by gadgets. A hungry child, without this habit, will still seek food. This is behavioural conditioning, not a feeding disorder.

The good news is that conditioning can be reversed. When parents gradually remove screens from mealtimes and bring the focus back to hunger cues and shared family eating, children can relearn to eat without screens.
