HYDROGEN WATER 2.5 pH STRONG ACIDIC WATER
1.
Strong acidic water, known as electrolyzed oxidative water (EOW) from the specialty literature.
2.
It is produced by electrolysis of a NaCl solution from the anode.
3.
The result product is a solution of hypochlorous acid (HOCl) with a pH lower than 2.7 and a positive ORP +1000 mV to +1600 mV.
4.
This anodic water contains oxidative properties due to a variety of chemicals (HOCl, O2–, 1O2, etc. )
5.
EOW’s high oxidation-reducing potential (ORP) is an indicator of its bactericidal effects. Hypochloric acid is the main agent in this water.
6.
The other species of free radicals are also important for its strong germicide activity.
7.
Perhaps this is one of the reasons why EOW is an effective anti-microbial, even with only 20 ppm to 60 ppm of chlorine available (HOCl/OCl-), unlike conventional antimicrobial that can contain chlorine at over 200 ppm. EOW is used for sterilization, disinfection, and hygiene.
6.0 pH Water beauty
Light acidic water is produced from water ionizers, which use the electrolysis process. The acidic water is produced in the positive electrode (anode). The Japanese Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare (JMHLW) approved this water in 1965, as an astringent for beauty purposes. 1.
JMHLW has also approved alkaline and strongly acidic waters as a medical substance.
THE CLAIMED BENEFITS OF MILK
ACIDIC WATER
Light acidic water (pH 4-6), also known as “beauty water,” is said to have beauty and cosmetology astringent benefits. However, no specific item could be located that could test mildly acidic water. However, because the pH of the skin surface is about 6 pie 0.6,4, it means that lightly acidic water would not disturb the pH of skin homeostasis. Indeed, alkaline water can raise the skin’s surface pH, leading to irritation by disrupting the physiological protective “acid cloak”. It can also alter skin bacterial flora, alter enzymes activity in the upper epidermal, and reduce skin fat, which can influence hydration leading to dry, foamy skin.
However, no article that directly tests the application of light acidic water on the skin could be located to demonstrate its supposed benefits. Apparently there are studies in Japanese.
Astringencies are generally tannins, organic molecules and chemical salts that cause mucous contraction; all ingredients not found in lightly acidic water.
