Dear friends,

Conducted the part 2 of the webinar on the 21st century success skills for teenagers.

64 people participated. There were teenagers, youth, parents, Pediatricians, educationists from different cities.

I put a Google form during the end for their inputs after both the webinars.

Almost 86% attended from the beginning.
And 76% found it quite useful.

We plan to do monthly, useful, relevant sessions for teenagers & parents like food, unhealthy weight, screentime, academics, tips on smart studies, time management, others.

The root cause as I see in majority of such cases is the sub optimal relationship between children & parents.

And whose is the greatest responsibility - certainly parents, being more mature.

But many Parents want to put authority over their children without first earning that right.

It's not intentional on the part of the parents. But the digital world has so much gripped everyone including the rural population that no-one is having the time & attention to ponder over other things.

Life is put on automation with some alien force dictating the terms and till the time wake up bell sounds, it's already late.

Teenagers need a trusted, connected adult in their life for prevention of risk taking behavior & resisting a lot of other negative influences & temptations in their life.

When they receive enough love and support from parents, they become more confident and capable to resist the influence of these -ve environmental factors.

However, if they fail to get this support from parents, the same temptations become powerful enough to influence your child

So, as parents, it's crucial to have a strong connection with your teenage children. This not only helps them during their teenage years but also creates a strong foundation for a lifelong relationship, bringing joy and strength to both of you.

But, I come across many parents who still struggle to become friends with their teenagers. I ask these parents:

How engrossed are these young minds in the digital screens.

Their growing minds are liable to get severely affected by the superfast, super sensuous, super addictive digital bombardment with a plethora of ill effects.

These children have high risk of becoming teens with unhealthy screentime, less physical activity, unhealthy weight gain with decreased attention, focus and easy irritability.

And so many are falling prey to online scams.

Along with conventional education, it's important to
- impart financial education and
- online safety education

to our teens today -both are 21st century critical life skills.
