DC Doda Chairs District-Level Review Meeting of Health Sector

Doda, July 22:- The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Doda, Shri Harvinder Singh, IAS, today convened a comprehensive district-level review meeting of the health sector at Conference Hall, DC Office complex Doda.

The meeting was attended by the Chief Planning Officer Doda Manesh Kumar, Chief Medical Officer Doda Dr. Om Kumar, CMO Kishtwar Dr. Rajinder Kumar, Medical Superintendent AH GMC Doda Dr. Tanveer Ahmed, District Health Officer Doda Dr. Raj Kumar Sharma, Deputy CMO Dr. S.L. Manhas, Block Medical Officers, and Programme Management Staff from the District and Block levels, including GMC Doda.

At the outset, CMO Doda Dr. Om Kumar welcomed the Chair and all participants and delivered a detailed PowerPoint presentation highlighting various health indicators, including work done, targets achieved, and progress across key programmes.

During the review, Deputy Commissioner Doda assessed indicator-wise progress made under several flagship health initiatives including the National TB Elimination Programme (NTEP), Reproductive and Child Health (RCH), Janani Shishu Suraksha Karyakram (JSSK), Tele-consultation services, Non-Communicable Diseases (NCD) Screening, JK Sehat and Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM) including ABHA ID generation

While reviewing the TB programme, the Deputy Commissioner Doda emphasized robust monitoring and follow-up mechanisms. Regarding RCH, he directed the health authorities to ensure timely and quality services for pregnant women, with special focus on institutional deliveries and effective engagement of ASHA workers for timely tracking and support. He also stressed the proper implementation of Tele-consultation, NCD Screening, and ABDM, urging the management staff to enhance performance in these critical areas.

As part of the activities under Comprehensive Primary Health Care (CPHC) services, special Non-Communicable Diseases (NCD) screening camps were organized across various Ayushman Arogya Mandir (AAM) Health and Wellness Centres in District Doda.

During the camps, healthcare workers conducted systematic screening of patients and the general public for early detection of NCDs, including hypertension, diabetes, and other chronic conditions.

In addition to screening, the staff also sensitized people about various NCD-related diseases and encouraged them to adopt a healthy lifestyle. They emphasized the importance of daily physical exercise, balanced diet, and regular check-ups to prevent lifestyle-related illnesses.

This initiative aims to promote awareness, early diagnosis, and timely intervention to reduce the burden of NCDs in the community.

*Health Department Launches Anti-Drug IEC Campaign Across District*

DODA, July 21, 2025:

As part of a determined effort to build a drug-free society, the Health Department in collaboration with various inter sectoral departments conducted a widespread IEC (Information, Education & Communication) campaign against drug abuse at various locations across the district on 21-07-2025.

Health professionals, along with representatives from other departments, actively participated in the campaign. The teams sensitized the public about the harmful effects of drug consumption and encouraged healthy, addiction-free lifestyles.

The campaign witnessed encouraging public engagement including students and strengthened the administration's commitment to combating substance abuse.

*World Population Day 2025 Awareness Activities Conclude in Doda*

Doda, July 18, 2025:

As part of the weeklong observance of World Population Day 2025 (July 11–18), a series of awareness programmes were conducted across various health institutions in District Doda under the overall guidance of CMO Doda, Dr. Om Kumar, Dy. CMO Dr. Sat Lal Manhas, and DHO Doda, Dr. Raj Kumar Sharma.

A key event was held at CHC Thathri under the supervision of BMO Dr. Shakeel Ahmed Kichloo, where healthcare workers sensitized the public on crucial topics such as family planning, reproductive health, and population stabilization.

Similar sessions were conducted in multiple health facilities across the district, aiming to promote responsible reproductive choices and increase awareness about available health services.

*Anti-Dengue Awareness Session Held at AAM Sub Centre Paryote*

Doda, July 18, 2025:

As part of the ongoing Anti-Dengue Month campaign, the District Malaria Team from the Chief Medical Officer's office Doda, under the directions of CMO Dr. Om Kumar, organized an awareness session at AAM Sub-Centre Paryote, falling under Medical Block Assar on 17-07-2025.

The session was conducted by Mr. Basharat Ahmed Mir (SHI), along with Mr. Farooq Ahmed and Mr. Liaqat Ali Zargar (JHIs). The team engaged with staff and local residents to raise awareness about waterborne and vector-borne diseases, highlighting preventive measures to combat the spread of dengue and other related illnesses.
