Anxiety leads to decreased immunity and is mother of all ailments.
It is manifest by disturbances of mood, as well as of thinking, behavior, and physiological activity. It includes panic disorder, agoraphobia, generalized anxiety disorder, specific phobia, social phobia, obsessive-compulsive disorder, acute stress disorder, and post-traumatic stress disorder. The etiology of anxiety may include stress, physical condition, genetic, and environmental factors. Anxiety symptoms may be due to disrupted modulation within the central nervous system. Many believe that low serotonin system activity and elevated noradrenergic system activity are responsible for its development. Therefore, selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors and serotonin-nor epinephrine reuptake inhibitors that is the first-line agent for its treatment. Corticosteroids may increase or decrease the activity of certain neural pathways, affecting not only behavior under stress, but also the brain's processing of fear-inducing stimuli. Several studies have found elevated WBC (white blood cells) count among anxious individuals there was a negative association between red blood cell and mean corpuscular hemoglobin and symptoms of anxiety. A positive association between anxiety symptoms and levels of hematological inflammatory markers including WBC and RDW.
