Story-a-day: The Law of the Garbage Truck

How often do you let other people’s nonsense change your mood? Do you let a bad driver, rude waiter, curt boss, or an insensitive employee ruin your day? Unless you’re the Terminator, you’re probably set back on your heels. However, the mark of your success is how quickly you can refocus on what’s important in your life.

Sixteen years ago I learned this lesson. And I learned it in the back of a New York City taxi cab. Here’s what happened.

I hopped in a taxi, and we took off for Grand Central Station. We were driving in the right lane when all of a sudden, a black car jumped out of a parking space right in front of us. My taxi driver slammed on his brakes, the car skidded, the tires squealed, and at the very last moment our car stopped just one inch from the other car’s back-end.

I couldn’t believe it. But then I couldn’t believe what happened next. The driver of the other car, the guy who almost caused a big accident, whipped his head around and he started yelling bad words at us. How do I know? Ask any New Yorker, some words in New York come with a special face. And he even threw in a one finger salute! I couldn’t believe it!

But then here’s what really blew me away. My taxi driver just smiled and waved at the guy. And I mean, he was friendly. So, I said, “Why did you just do that!? This guy could have killed us!” And this is when my taxi driver told me what I now call, “The Law of the Garbage Truck™.” He said:

“Many people are like garbage trucks. They run around full of garbage, full of frustration, full of anger, and full of disappointment. As their garbage piles up, they look for a place to dump it. And if you let them, they’ll dump it on you.

So when someone wants to dump on you, don’t take it personally. Just smile, wave, wish them well, and move on. Believe me. You’ll be happier.”

So I started thinking, how often do I let Garbage Trucks run right over me? And how often do I take their garbage?

Not just happy beach snap for me.

It's a whole story.

There was a time, I could not sit on floor, I could not sit in sukhaasan (chaukdi maar ke baithna), climbing one floor was an ordeal for me. One squat was a big challenge. Jumping was definitely out of question.

I used to visualise fancy knee caps, curiously listen about knee replacement surgeries.

Survived on painkillers and knee caps and various knee pain management therapies.

Never occurred that by shifting my Nutrition, understanding inflammation, healing my insulin resistance I can solve biggest problem of my life.

I really studied so much of physiology, nutrition and biochemistry and science of habit building for myself and Conquering my own Everest was the natural outcome of my journey.

Today I can walk, jump, trek, climb, sit in padmasan almost entire day, these are miracles of my life, story of my grit and persistence.

I am a common woman, who just persisted for nothing big, just to eliminate my everyday common pain. It's big for me.

Hi Stutii, sending you a personal message. I got my period after 9 months this morning. And I know this is because of the nutrition shift. I am 46.

A Very Good morning Dear,
Today my weight is 99.9 ...woohoo. 😃💐 finally in 90 series. I was 106 when I started.

Another one few days back👇🏼

I want to share with you, in the last 5 years I have done running, CrossFit Exercises, including rope climbing, weight training, endurance training, cardiovascular and flexibility and balance training, and I have also tried limiting my portions of food, and nothing has helped me feel any better with my energy, or combat the exhaustion and heaviness of my menopause, hypo thyroid, and cholesterol... But just these last 90+ days on this program, I find I am sleeping better, feeling lighter, have so much more energy, feel less bloated, and have even lost one inch from my waist, hips, everywhere, even my belly is shrinking, and my weight is actually, for the first time in 7 years gone down!!!

Getting Through Hard Times

We are sturdy beings. But in many ways, we are fragile. We can accept change and loss, but this comes at our own pace and in our own way. And only God and we can determine the timing.

Hard times, stressful times, are not all there is to life, but they are part of life, growth, and moving forward.

What we do with hard times, or hard energy, is our choice.

We can use the energy of hard times to work out, and work through, our issues. We can use it to fine-tune our skills and our spirituality. Or we can go through these situations suffering, storing up bitterness, and refusing to grow or change.

Hard times can motivate and mold us to bring out our best. We can use these times to move forward and upward to higher levels of living, loving, and growth.

The choice is ours. Will we let ourselves feel? Will we take a spiritual approach, including gratitude, toward the event? Will we question life and our Higher Power by asking what we're supposed to be learning and doing? Or will we use the incident to prove old, negative beliefs? Will we say, "Nothing good ever happens to me... I'm just a victim... People can't be trusted... Life isn't worth living"?

We do not always require hard energy, or stress, to motivate us to grow and change. We do not have to create stress, seek it, or attract it. But if it's there, we can learn to channel it into growth and use it for achieving what's good in life.

God, let my hard times be healing times.

9.9.2022


Too often, we try to gain a clear perspective before it is time. That will make us crazy. We do not always know why things are happening the way they are. We do not always know how a particular relationship will work out. We do not always understand the source of our feelings, why we've been led down a particular path, what is being worked out in us, what we are learning, why we needed to recycle, why we had to wait, why we needed to go through a time of discipline, or why a door closed. How our present circumstances will work into the larger scheme of events is not always clear to us. That is how it needs to be. Perspective will come in retrospect. We could strain for hours today for the meaning of something that may come in an instant next year. Let it go. We can let go of our need to figure things out, to feel in control. Now is the time to be. To feel. To go through it. To allow things to happen. To learn. To let whatever is being worked out in us take its course. In hindsight, we will know. It will become clear. For today, being is enough. We have been told that all things shall work out for good in our life. We can trust that to happen, even if we cannot see the place today's events will hold in the larger picture.

Today, I will let things happen without trying to figure everything out. If clarity is not available to me today, I will trust it to come later, in retrospect. I will put simple trust in the truth that all is well, events are unfolding as they should, and all will work out for good in my life—better than I can imagine.

I hate my coach and I love to keep him.

My every interaction with him, leaves me with a heart pain and confused, I come back resolved not to see him again. After few hours, his teachings start making sense to me.

And I get back to him everytime, I hit a new roadblock.

A coach is someone who tells you what you don't want to hear, who has you see what you don't want to see, so you can be who you have always known you could be.

Provided you don't throw him/her away in difficult days.

Story-a-day: The Axe & The Cobra

A carpenter went home after shutting down his workshop, a black poisonous cobra entered his workshop.

The cobra was hungry and hoped to find its supper lurking somewhere within.

It slithered from one end to another and accidentally bumped into a double-edgedi metal axe and got very slightly injured.

In anger and seeking revenge, the snake bit the axe with full force.

What could a bite do to a metallic axe? Instead the cobra’s mouth started bleeding.

Out of fury and arrogance, the cobra tried its best to strangle and kill the object that was causing it pain by wrapping itself very tightly around the blades.

The next day when the carpenter opened the workshop, he found a seriously cut, dead cobra wrapped around the axeo blades.

The cobra died not beciause of someone else’s fault but faced these consequences merely because of its own anger and wrath.

When we are angry, we realise that we have caused more harm to ourselves.

This story in Context of clean eating and Nutrition and Results we want.

Sometime when we are not getting result, we give up and in revenge anger we start eating all kind of nonsense danger food.

This anger eating will only do more self harm.

Keep peace, keep eating clean.

Things are happening, we may not see it.

Least benefit is.....Health is not on decline or rate of decline has reduced considerably.
