An apple 🍎 a day keeps the doctor away 😊
Very true, but don’t stress🤦‍♂️ yourself in order to eat healthy only.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Eat foods you like.

I mean, cookies 🍪 and burger 🍔 and pizza🍕 and ice cream🍦 and fries 🍟 and jalebi ,whatever else you love.⠀⠀

When your brain trusts that satisfaction from food is a regular, you will feel more peace and less of a need to overeat so DO eat your favorite food.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀
Food doesn't have to be complicated.
Eating well isn't a math problem, rocket science, or a punishment.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
You can keep things simple, fun, and easy, and still get what you need AND what you want from food.

A key to healthy eating is to have small & frequent meals and eat in moderation.

Everyone has a favourite face cream or treatment, but beautiful skin starts with nourishment from within.

Eat the correct balance of foods and you’ll feed your skin the vital nutrients it needs to help it stay soft, supple and blemish-free.

While nutrition is not the ONLY thing that contributes to beautiful skin (genetics, topical products, sleep, stress, exercise, etc all play a role too!), it does influence the health of the skin a lot

Some nutritional tips for promoting Skin Health :

Eat a diet rich in fruits & vegetables for antioxidants

Avoid or reduce sugar (especially important for those with acne!)

Aim to get good amount of fiber per day (ensure you are having a daily bowel movement)

Choose lean, organic meats as much as possible

Make sure that all of your snacks & meals are properly balanced to prevent a rapid spike in blood sugar levels (protein, fat, carb)

Drink sufficient water (atleast 2liters) throughout the day for skin health

Studies show that breakfast skippers have a higher prevalence of heart disease, specifically atherosclerosis, ⁣ ⁣because they tend to eat more unbalanced meals later in the day and tend to consume more fatty foods at night. ⁣

Skipping breakfast can cause irregular blood sugar levels which can lead to brain fog, fatigue and weakness throughout the day. ⁣

⁣Eating breakfast helps to stabilize blood sugar levels, both in people with and without diabetes. . ⁣

⁣You’ve hopefully slept 7-8 hours and your body is hungry. Wake it up with some powerful food to keep your metabolism revived and your body energized, efficient and satisfied.⁣ ⁣

Who's heard this statement before? ⁣
This is a huge misconception within the diabetes community.
Diabetes is not caused by eating too much sugar

Type 2 diabetes occurs due to a progressive loss of insulin (a hormone made by the pancreas) or when the body is unable to use insulin well ⁣⁣

Below are a few risk factors that may increase the chances of developing type 2 diabetes⁣
•If you have pre-diabetes⁣
•If you are overweight ⁣
•Having family history of diabetes ⁣
•Having high blood pressure or high cholesterol ⁣

⁣Keep in mind you can incorporate lifestyle changes such as (diet and exercise)to decrease the chances of developing diabetes ⁣

I don't have time. Life is too busy right now. I 'm too tired. It's too late to start. I've tried every diet and it didn't work, so i can't do it. I'll probably just fail anyway. I don't like to exercise. I can't afford it. People would think I'm crazy.I get bored easily. I don't have any support of the family/ kids . This is just how I am - I can't change that.
Alright , Do those excuses sound familiar? Have you ever used any of those? I'm ashamed to say, I have.
But here's the thing: those are excuses, not truths. In fact, they are lies.
They are tricks our brains play to keep us small and safe but that ultimately stop us from living our best, most amazing life.
Happiness requires growth, which unfortunately requires change. And discomfort. And effort. BUT in the end, isn't that a small price to pay?
Let's not get caught in the trap of excuses. You have exactly enough time & resources for the things that matter most to you.
Losing weight, learning a new skill, reading a book, working out, starting a business, traveling...whatever it is you want to do in your life, get out there and do it.👍🏻

RAISE KIDS TO HAVE HEALTHY RELATIONSHIP WITH FOOD

Wondering about what may help your picky eater?⁣ ⁣
I was talking with a mother recently, and she said "I'm so tired of nothing working for my child to eat, we've tried everything!"⁣
I totally relate to this, feeding picky eaters is tough!⁣ ⁣ ⁣
We talked about it, and she told me she was so focused on putting food in front of her toddler, and then trying to feed the baby, that by the time mealtime was done, an hour had passed!
She would rapidly scarf down her food after everybody was at that point proceeded onward to the next activity.⁣
Between getting the child to eat and battling with her baby about eating, she was exhausted.⁣ ⁣
We discussed what changes she could make, and then it hit her. She wasn't showing her child the meal time behaviour she wanted from them! ⁣

Typical behaviours of picky eaters include:

Eating very little or accepting only a few types of foods
Eating few fruits and vegetables or refusing to try new foods

Sit together and eat as a family
Fix set meal and snack times to help your child understand hunger and fullness
No pressure for child to take a bite of anything
Comment on what you like
Eat with your child and model good eating
Talk positively with your child about food and eating
Improves specific and fussy eating⁣

I know it is tough to do, but the dishes will still be there. Parents feeding yourself and sitting with your kids even for 5 minutes can make a HUGE difference. ⁣

If you are exhausted and feel like you’ve tried everything with your selective eater, it may be time to get personalized nutrition guidance so that your littleone will have a healthy relationship with all foods.
