Tomatoes: Harness critical micronutrients, phytochemicals, vitamins, and minerals to support many functions of the liver. Lycopene is a beloved nutrient that the liver admires: the liver uses it to shield itself from cell damage, plus lycopene helps the liver detox red blood cells safely, smoothly, and efficiently. The fruit acids in tomatoes help keep the gallbladder healthy, helping rid sludge from the gallbladder and even reduce gallstone size. Even poorly grown tomatoes have a high mineral content. Romaine lettuce 🥬🥬

Romaine lettuce is a fantastic leafy green that contains all 8 of the essential amino acids. It is also high in omega-3, calcium, and iron and has more vitamin C than an orange. Romaine is rich in beta carotene, folate, and vitamins E & K. The beta carotene and folate in romaine lettuce can reduce the risk of heart attacks and stroke, while the vitamins E & K can help balance blood sugar, strengthen muscles and bones, and build a healthy immune system.

It can also help to prevent the oxidation of cholesterol and its high silicon content helps to repair and renew joints, bones, arteries, and connective tissues. Romaine is also unique in that it contains very low levels of oxalic acid making it an ideal leafy green for those who are prone to kidney stones and/or joint pain.

Its antispasmodic properties aid the cardiovascular system and the digestive tract. Romaine lettuce contains sedative compounds that relax the nerves and calm the body. It can help prevent nightmares and provide support for a good nights sleep. Romaine is an excellent addition to smoothies. Blend a head of romaine with two oranges, this has more calcium than a glass of milk.

Or make a smoothie with bananas, blueberries, romaine, and a little coconut water for a protein & antioxidant energy boost. For salads, chopped romaine makes an excellent crunchy base for all of your fixings. Or try stuffing whole leaves with guacamole, salsa, and sprouts and eat like a taco.

Cauliflower: Endocrine Support

Cauliflower contains the trace mineral boron, which helps the endocrine system. And yet cauliflower gets more attention for the so-called goitrogens it contains. Cauliflower does the very opposite of what the hype says—it helps the thyroid and the rest of the endocrine system (including the hypothalamus and adrenal glands) to stave off the pathogens like Epstein-Barr virus that are truly behind issues such as thyroiditis.

Cauliflower and seaweed together create a powerful detoxification tool to help expel chlorine, harmful fluoride, and radiation from the sensitive endocrine glands. One delicious way to enjoy this combination is to chop raw cauliflower in the food processor until fine, then to use it as rice in nori roll-ups.

How To Use:

Cauliflower has a unique ability to be easily digested in its raw state, which is ideal, because eating it raw gives you the best chance at easily assimilating and using the full potential of what it has to offer. Enjoy it raw in salads, as a snack alone or with other vegetables, use it as a crudité with a dip such as salsa or hummus.

You can also enjoy cauliflower steamed, stir-fried, and in soups. Cauliflower can also be enjoyed baked, although you’ll receive more benefits from cauliflower when it’s raw or steamed.

Healing Power of Parsley

Though it could technically be grouped with the other aromatic herbs, parsley is in a class of its own because of its skill at alkalizing all the body systems. You’ve no doubt heard of the concept of body acidity and alkalinity—that when the body becomes acidic, disease can occur. Well, wherever parsley is sold, it should come with a sign that says, “Fights acidosis more than anything else.” Normally, alkalizing foods only have the ability to promote alkalinity in one or two body systems, so other systems can remain acidic. Used appropriately and on a regular basis, parsley can alkalize the entire body, crossing body systems and driving out acidity across the board. (Note that pH strips don’t give you the feedback on body acidity that you may think they do. For more on this, see the “Harmful Health Fads and Trends” chapter.) Mineral salts are a large part of what makes parsley so alkalizing—parsley’s specialized mineral salts bind onto unproductive acids in the body to drive them out. This alkalizing skill makes parsley helpful for preventing and battling every type of cancer.

The herb is an all-purpose pathogen-fighter; it keeps bacteria, parasites, and fungus at bay. Parsley is amazing for anything mouth-related such as gum disease, tooth decay, and dry mouth, as it impedes the growth of unproductive microorganisms there. It’s also a fantastic anti-DDT weapon—it has a great chelation effect that pulls out stores of herbicides and pesticides such as DDT that you never knew were hiding in your body and holding you back. Parsley is full of nutrition, including B vitamins such as folic acid, traces of B12 coenzymes, and vitamins A, C, and K. It’s also a highly remineralizing food, especially for those low in trace minerals; parsley provides magnesium, sulfur, iron, zinc, manganese, molybdenum, chromium, selenium, iodine, and calcium.

Parsley is practically a wild food, as it doesn’t need much tending to fare well and provide for you; it can even handle some colder weather, meaning that it has an adaptogenic nature. When you eat it, parsley passes this will to survive and thrive along to you. Parsley is an excellent herb to replenish you when you’re depleted and exhausted. Like licorice root, though it doesn’t usually make the lists of top adrenal boosters, parsley most definitely should.

CONDITIONS

If you have any of the following conditions, try bringing parsley into your life:

All types of cancer (especially blood cell cancers such as multiple myeloma), torn cartilage, phobias, anxiety, depression, gum disease, salivary duct problems, thrush, adrenal fatigue, Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) mononucleosis, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), migraines, thyroid disease, urinary tract infections (UTIs), Addison’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, dementia, Alzheimer’s disease, arthritis, arteriosclerosis, atrial fibrillation, cardiovascular disease, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD),endocrine system disorders, hepatitis C, human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), bipolar disorder, Lyme disease, narcissistic personality disorder, fatty liver, ringworm, Sjogren’s syndrome

Cucumber Juice

Fresh cucumber juice is the best rejuvenation tonic in the world. Cucumber juice is a highly alkalizing and hydrating drink that is rich in nutrients such as vitamins A, C, K, magnesium, silicon, and potassium. It has the ability to cleanse and detox the entire body as well as help to alleviate digestive problems such as gastritis, acidity, heartburn, indigestion, and ulcers. It is also an ideal way to properly hydrate the body since it is contains beneficial electrolytes that have the ability to bring nutrients and hydration deep into the cells and tissues making it far more effective than water alone.

Cucumber juice is also one of the best natural diuretics around, aiding in the excretion of wastes through the kidneys and helping to dissolve uric acid accumulations such as kidney and bladder stones. It has the ability to help reduce edema, bloating and swelling in the body. It also has wonderful anti-inflammatory benefits which can significantly benefit autoimmune and neurological disorders such as Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Fibromyalgia, Migraines, Anxiety, Depression, Shingles, Eczema, Psoriasis, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Multiple Sclerosis, & Lupus.

Cucumber juice is also an excellent remedy for bringing down a fever in children and the convalescent. Twelve to twenty ounces of fresh cucumber juice on an empty stomach is recommended daily to help hydrate and recover the body.

How do I make cucumber juice:

Ingredients:

2 large cucumbers (organic if possible*)
Directions:

Wash the cucumbers and cut as needed. Run the cucumbers through your juicer and drink immediately for best results. If you do not have a juicer, you can cut the cucumbers, blend them until smooth, and then strain the liquid through a fine mesh strainer, cheesecloth or nut milk bag so you end up with just the juice to drink.

For best results, drink on an empty stomach.

Raw Honey Miracles

If you feel out of touch with miracles, then reacquaint yourself with honey. Unprocessed honey in its raw, living form is nothing less than a miracle from God and the earth. Honey has saved human life during drastic times of starvation, and it will become critical again in the future as a food for our survival. You don’t need to be in dire circumstances to benefit from honey, though. Take a moment to think about what this wild food really is: nectar. It is liquid gold that can turn your life around.

For those who are afraid that honey is just pure sugar and therefore should be avoided, put your worry aside. If you turn your back on honey, you’re missing out on its amazing health benefits. The sugar in honey is nothing like processed sugar—don’t confuse it with table sugar or high-fructose corn syrup. Rather, because bees collect from plant species far and wide, the fructose and glucose in honey are saturated with more than 200,000 undiscovered phytochemical compounds and agents, including pathogen-killers, phytochemicals that protect you from radiation damage, and anti cancerous phytochemicals. When drawn into cancerous tumors and cysts, this last class of phytochemicals shut down the cancerous growth process— meaning that raw honey can stop cancer in its tracks.

Honey’s highly absorbable sugar and B12 coenzymes make it one of the most powerful brain foods of our time. Plus, raw honey repairs DNA and is extremely high in minerals such as calcium, potassium, zinc, selenium, phosphorus, chromium, molybdenum, and manganese. Our immune systems are constantly adapting to whatever microorganisms we encounter—which is why raw honey, one of the most adaptogenic foods on the planet, produced by bees, one of the most adaptogenic beings on the planet, is so important for supporting immunity. Honey in its raw form is a secret weapon against infectious illness.

When you’re dealing with weakened immunity and feel like you’re extra susceptible to catching colds, flus, stomach bugs such as norovirus, and food poisoning, raw honey assists your body in keeping a strong first line of defense by strengthening neutrophils and macrophages so they can fight off pathogens. (It’s not yet documented by medical science that these and other white blood cells feed off of immune-stimulating phytochemicals.) These properties also make raw honey anti-inflammatory—because it inhibits pathogens from procreating and thus releasing toxins that elevate inflammation. Honey is truly medicine for our planet.

CONDITIONS

If you have any of the following conditions, try bringing raw honey into your life:

Sinus infections, ear infections, diabetes, hypoglycemia, posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), allergies, sties, eye infections, MRSA, staph infections, mystery infertility, small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (SIBO), low reproductive system battery, insomnia, adrenal fatigue, colds, influenza, norovirus, all types of cancer, bipolor disorder, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), Alzheimer’s disease, dementia, all autoimmune diseases and disorders, parasites, food poisoning, respiratory infections, colds, influenza, bronchitis, laryngitis, thrush

They have adapted to every fluctuation in climate over the millennia. No other food on the planet has the ability to thrive in such trying conditions. This makes them the number-one adaptogen, period—even though they’re not recognized as an adaptogenic food at all.

Wild blueberries are fantastic at helping to remove toxic heavy metals, radiation, DDT, pesticides, and other toxins. They are also anti-pathogenic. Wild blueberries are a helpful cancer preventative food and help protect you from disease.

Pears, once called the “gift of the gods”, are a juicy, sweet, and easily digested fruit that are rich in vitamins and alkaline minerals such as vitamins A, C, E, folate, niacin, and boron. Pears also contain several anti-cancer properties and are known to be especially good in helping to prevent esophageal cancer, breast cancer, stomach cancer, and colon cancer.

Pears are an anti-inflammatory food making them perfect for those who suffer from autoimmune disorders such as Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Epstein-Barr, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Endometriosis, Guillain-Barre syndrome, Lyme disease, Hashimoto’s, Meniere’s disease, and Colitis. Pears also help to decrease the risk of Heart Disease and Type 2 Diabetes.

The flavonols in pears coupled with the anthocyanins help improve insulin sensitivity and their low glycemic index make it a perfect food for those who have blood sugar issues. Pears contain a special fiber that binds with bile acids in the intestines which has the ability to lower cholesterol. Pears also contain both Glutathione which can help prevent high blood pressure and strokes and Boron which helps the body retain calcium and prevent osteoporosis .

Pears are also a good source of iodine which helps to keep the metabolism balanced and the thyroid functioning properly and they are high in pectin which is highly beneficial for digestion and bowel regularity. Allow pears to fully ripen at room temperature before eating for maximum nutritional and health benefits.

Healing Powers of Pears

While apples are the stuff of legend, their close relatives, pears, are considered ho-hum. People often associate pears with their bland canned form, or with rare caramelized desserts; beyond that, pears don’t factor into most people’s daily thoughts. In the back of our minds, we know they exist, and that’s about it. Same with the pancreas: We’re aware that we each have this gland, yet unless it develops an issue, we barely register that it’s there. Meanwhile, the pancreas takes much of the body’s stress. And sometimes we abuse the pancreas without even realizing it by eating a combination of fried foods, rich dishes, too much table sugar, or high-fat desserts. Heartbreak, letdown, betrayal, and other forms of broken trust, as well as fear of any kind, are also hard on the pancreas.

For pancreas protection and stress assistance, we must turn to the pear. This neglected fruit helps rejuvenate this neglected and overtaxed gland, alleviating pancreatitis and helping to prevent pancreatic cancer. Pears are also amazing for other aspects of digestion. They act as an antispasmodic; help to soothe the linings of the stomach and intestinal tract; feed beneficial bacteria; starve and kill unproductive bacteria, parasites, and fungus; raise hydrochloric acid in the stomach; help prevent intestinal and stomach cancers; and reduce the bad acids produced by mucus and pathogens such as H. pylori. They also restore linings in the gut that have become damaged and calloused from bacteria.

The little granules in a pear’s flesh are loaded with phytochemicals, trace minerals, and amino acids such as valine, histidine, threonine, and lysine. The trace minerals and amino acids combine and lock onto poisons in the body such as pesticides, expelling them from your system. Trace mineral salts make pear juice high in electrolytes, which stabilizes blood sugar. Plus, pears are a great weight-loss food and heaven-sent for the liver, helping to cleanse and purify the organ and stop cirrhosis. Bring pears into your life, and you’ll see that they’re anything but boring.
