"Natural Law Is In Every Grain”
– Maharishi Mahesh Yogi
In this talk, Maharishi Ji offers a profound and practical insight into how the universe is governed — and how human life, society, and administration can be aligned with that same governing intelligence.
He speaks about the Constitution of Natural Law — the silent, eternal order that maintains harmony in the ever-expanding universe. The rising and setting of the sun, the flow of seasons, the structure of a leaf, the birth of stars — all these are not random. They are expressions of one unified, intelligent system.
This universal constitution is not written in books or passed by parliaments. It is the Veda — the eternal knowledge, not man-made, but nature-made. And where is this Veda found? Not outside — but deep within the Self. In the silent, transcendental field of consciousness — what Maharishi Ji calls परमे व्योमन् (parame vyoman), the unbounded inner sky where all the devatas (impulses of natural law) reside.
Through the simple, effortless technique of Transcendental Meditation, Maharishi Ji teaches us how to access this inner field. When the mind settles and consciousness becomes quiet, we contact our own Atma — the Self — and through it, the same intelligence that governs the cosmos.
In this way, a government based on Natural Law is not artificial or imposed — it is life-supporting, nourishing, spontaneous, and in complete harmony with the laws that uphold the universe. It is administration through silence. Action through Being.
This is Maharishi Ji’s vision of a truly enlightened civilization — one where policy is not driven by fear or division, but by the inner intelligence of consciousness itself.
To lead wisely, one must first awaken the Self.
To bring peace to a nation, one must first enliven peace in the individual.
This is the foundation of consciousness-based governance.
This is the administration of the Age of Enlightenment.
