ABOUT HOSPITAL

FOUNDER OF SHANTI BHAVAN MEDICAL CENTER....

My Call is sure, my Vision is clear and my Mission

is rewarding” Shanti Bhavan Medical Centre was founded by Mr. N.J.Varughese and his wife Mrs. Ellen Varughese. When a serious Malaria epidemic hit the area in the late 1990s’ Mr. Varughese realized that the need is more pressing. Over 5000 people had died needlessly. Mr. Varughese dreamed of providing medical care for the village people, and in 1999, a mobile medical service under the leadership of Dr. J. Sree Hari Babu was initiated. The vision of providing a world class hospital in a remote area for the poorest of the poor came into being shortly after that. In 2004, the foundation of the Medical Centre was laid with a vision of providing excellent medical services to the people, the SMC is what today. The 101 bed facility started functioning from 20.02.2014.
