Movement:

Why movement is important to us.Movement is what gives us an healthy living.Think about it how as a kid we all used to be active and moving around. Many times we had been told to sit quite as a kid.But as we age we all stop moving and at a point we all forget we need to move only.That's when your body system begins to slow down.Let's talk about the Muscular system if you don't move the muscles which are responsible for that will keep getting weak and at a point they get atrophied.This could lead to failing the other systems in the body.A simple example would be you need to burn the calories that you consume everyday.Even if it is good calories you need to burn them.Otherwise it would keep getting accumulated.Because of that you wouldn't be able to move as well.We all need to keep assessing our Movement level.We all need to challenge ourselves to keep ourselves moving and leading a healthy life.

Vitamin D3:

Are you feeling tired throughout the day or you feeling aches in the bones.Good chance Your Vitamin D is less.Vitamin D is a Vitamin which helps the Calcium synthesis in the bones.When Vitamin D gets less your bones won't be able to absorb more calcium.When the bones get weaker your muscles also gets weaker.These days Vitamin D deficiency has become a very common thing even kids have this deficiency.The reason is SUN is the richest source of Vitamin D.Most of us aren't in the Sun at all.And on top of it we spend our day mostly inside the office or a room under air condition.This makes it worse.The best way to test if you are void of Vitamin D is press your shin bone from down to up.Even if it hurts marginally on pressing you are deficient of Vitamin D.Remedy for this is be on SUN as much as possible.And on Prescription you could take Vitamin D supplements as advised.

Pillows and Neck Pain:

Pillows are the most important when it comes to Neck Pain. Almost all of us at one point experience Neck Pain. It is mostly due to wrong pillows that we use. You are lying down on a pillow for a minimum of 6 hours a day. If that pillow is not correct for you it would cause Neck Pain. When a pillow is not right for you it begins to cause Neck stiffness. Over a period Neck stiffness can cause spasm in Neck Muscles. Which in turn can put pressure in your Vertebrae's. In some cases it could even cause Disc Bulge. That is why your pillows need to correct. The right way to use the pillow is when you are lying on your Back, your Neck should not bend back. Also the Pillow should cover till the Base of the Neck. Same applies to the Side Lying as well. Your Neck should not bend to the side. So the Right Pillow should be not soft or not hard. Also it is always better to use to One Right sized Pillow.

Cervical Lordosis:

We all have a curvature in our neck.Which is concave and that is called Lordosis.But over a period we tend to lose the curvature because of sedentary lifestyle.When we sit for longer hours and that too in front of computers,the muscles around the neck gets tighter and eventually gets weaker.That's how we lose our curvature.Because the muscles are the ones which moves the bones/joints.The other major cause to this is looking at the mobile phone while lying down which also leads to curvature loss.Some cases have reported disc bulges and nerve impingement because of curvature loss.Because of loss of curvature you tend to lose the mobility and also resulting in pain,numbness in the neck and arms as well.This can be reversed to an extent with the corrective exercises.Also you should avoiding sitting at one place.Usually the norm is try not to sit more than 30 minutes.

Back pain can be devastating but today I read a saddening news.A 38 year old male committed su***de because of Back pain.It is tough to come out of Back pain.But is it non curable... maybe. ACL Reconstruction Rehab:

We all know that a Grade III ligament tear would be needing Reconstruction of the Ligament. ACL is one of the most reconstructed Ligament.Once the Ligament is reconstructed it is very solid.But you need to understand that it's surgery... it means once a cut is made you will have atrophy in the muscles.The Prehab and the Post surgical Rehab are as important or more more important than the surgery itself.Because the surgery will fix the ligament not the Weakness of the muscles.As it's shown Your Quadriceps will atrophy that much post surgery.This in turn will cause a lot of issues.One of the things can happen is Arthiritic changes in the knee.Also returning to any physical activity will entirely depend on how strong your muscles are.The most important thing is you need to achieve complete Knee Hyper Extension.I have treated many sports persons having that difficulty.Also this can also lead to Arthiritic changes in the knee.So it is very important that you get into Full Swing Rehabilitation post surgery.

Golf and Thoracic Rotation:

Golf is a tough sport to master.Because you need to learn how to do a proper Golf Swing.Golf Swing is an unnatural one.If you don't learn how to Swing properly you could potentially damage the Spine.For Example here we are gonna talk about Thoracic Rotation.This is an important component of Golf Swing.Your Upper Body/Thoracic Spine is responsible for Rotation in the Golf Swing.But mostly it doesn't Happen.If you are not Rotating the Thoracic efficiently there will be lot of load in the Lower Back.Over a period you could literally break your Back.You could even have a Stress fracture in the Lower Back if you do not Rotate enough from the Thoracic Spine.Thus it is very important to learn how to Rotate the Thoracic before even you want to hit your first ball in Golf.This illustration shows how much Thoracic Rotation needed in Golf.

Haglund's Deformity:

Haglund's deformity is a bony projection/growth on the back of the heel.You would find an extra growth of bone projecting out of your heel.It happens because of too much load being put on Achilis tendon.Haglund's happens over a period of time.Actual cause for this is Over loading.It usually happens on people who are into sports.For Ex:If you are a long distance Runner, you would be loading your Achilis over a period of time as your mileage goes up.Because your Achilis will degenerate given the excessive loading.On top if your big muscles aren't supporting it will create more issues.That's when you will have your Achilis getting loaded more hence Haglund's might happen.

Chondromalacia Patellae:

Chondromalacia Patellae is a term used widely for a maltracking knee cap.So let's see what is the cause.Your Patella alias Knee cap supposedly move up and down in a straight line when you do any activity.But the Knee cap mal tracks when the Imbalance happen in the Muscles.Because the Joint/Knee cap are moved by the Muscles.When the Muscles become weak and tight it disturbs the whole alignment.In this case what happens is because of the Weak and Tight Thigh Muscles... Quadriceps and Hamstrings respectively the tracking of the Patella completely changes.So the wear and tear becomes quite a bit without coming to our notice.But we still do our activities like walk,run and cycle and all.It keeps on getting worse and making the cartilage worn out.Cartilage is cushion like structure between the knees.At one point the Cartilage gets completely worn out because of progressing Muscular Imbalance.This gives the rubbing noise and cracking sound in the knee joint every time when you bend the Knees.So the solution to this would working on the Muscles to keep the alignment correct.And it can be corrected if the Muscular Imbalance is worked.

Core Muscles:

Almost for all of us the Core Muscles are weak.To the unknown Core Muscles are mainly the ones around your Stomach as it's shown in the picture.Core Muscles needs to ACTIVE for may reasons.We can actually activate these if and when required.But what happens in most of the cases we Strengthen them too much.We make sure they get supremely strong.But we need to understand that these are Postural Muscles as well.As in when these get too Strong they get tighter as well.When the Core gets tighter it can affect the Lower Back in terms of mobility and can cause stiffness in the associated Muscles.As a result you would have an Inflexible Spine.This could lead to Major problems in Lower Back.One of the big problem would be your Sacro-Iliac joint getting stiffer.Over a period it gets Dysfunctioned too.Thus it is very important not to work too much on the Core Muscles hence you don't have to deal with immobility issues of the Lower Back.
