The big challenge is to make a design that people will know, but also one that can be produced in large numbers without problems. This scored line, created during the tablet compression process by specialized punches, is key to ensuring that when you break the tablet, you get relatively equal doses.

However, designing an effective breakline is a delicate balance. A well-designed tablet should break easily and, most importantly, accurately. If the tablet crumbles unevenly, the dose you end up taking could be significantly different from what's intended. This inaccuracy can be influenced by several factors, including the design of the breakline itself, how hard the tablet is, and the ingredients it's made of.
