About Yogadeśika

Yogadeśika is a Yoga center in Bengaluru, started by Apoorva Raghunandan, who is a Yoga teacher of the Krishnamacharya tradition. She was exposed to yoga at the tender age of seven and grew up in a family of Yoga Practitioners. Their family traces ancestral roots to Sri Nathamuni Alwar and are descents of this lineage. She initially trained under her mother D.T. Aravindarani and later on took guidance from her maternal aunt Dr. Latha Satish, who is one of the senior students of Sri TKV Deshikachar. She also got the opportunity to study and learn from senior mentors of the Krishnamacharaya Yoga Mandiram, Chennai. Sri Srinivasaraghava Sridharan, Sri VM Janakiraman, Sri Srinivasan Ve, Shrimati Geetha Satish, Srimati Vasumathi Suresh and Shrimati Kripa Vaidyanathan have mentored her. She is very passionate about spreading Yoga as taught by the Krishnamacharya tradition. Her other interests include Vedic chanting and Indian Classical Music.

The Yoga center is named as a mark of respect towards Sri TKV Desikachar. Personalized classes as well as group classes are offered to students. Online classes are offered too!
