Behind every smile, there may be hidden struggles, pain, or hardships that we cannot perceive. It is crucial to remember that each person we encounter is fighting their own battles, some visible and others concealed beneath a facade. By acknowledging this inherent complexity of human existence, we can cultivate a mindset of compassion and open ourselves up to offering kindness to all, regardless of our understanding of their problems.

Denying or pretending that pain doesn't exist hinders healing. Acknowledging and confronting our pain is essential for growth and emotional well-being. By embracing our emotions, we validate our experiences, learn from them, and develop healthy coping strategies. Healing begins with facing the truth and allowing ourselves to heal.

Taking care of our mental health is just as important as having a healthy body. As a parent, you play an important role in your child's mental health.

You can promote good mental health by the things you say and do, and through the environment you create at home.

Listen, and respect their feelings:

✨ It's OK for children and youth to feel sad or angry. Encourage them to talk about how they feel.
✨ Keep communication and conversation flowing by asking questions and listening to your child. Mealtime can be a good time for talking.

All children and youth are different. If you're concerned about your child may have a problem, look at whether there are changes in the way they think, feel or act.

Please share to raise
awareness - someone out there who's suffering in silence needs to see this!
When you have a mental health issue it is common for your mind to distort things and make you believe you're a burden!
It makes you overidentify with your struggle -it overmagnifies the negatives and uses them to attack your character. Meanwhile, it discounts / filters out so many positive things about yourself and makes you completely unaware of them!

Here's a list of reasons you're not a burden - we hope this brings awareness to some things your mind may be filtering out. Please take a moment to really sit with
each of these points and try to remember a time in your life you have done these things. Your instant reaction may be to reject them / dismiss them / minimize them (due to depression or anxiety for example), but if you take the time to recognize these things it'll be a big step forward in your mental health journey!
Comment below: What are some other reasons you're not a burden? Which of the ones listed do you tick
off?
