Adhesions in Abdomen & Pelvis – Patient Education.
📌 What are adhesions?
Adhesions are bands of scar tissue that form inside the abdomen or pelvis.
They can cause organs (like uterus, ovaries, tubes, bowel) to stick to each other.
Common causes:
Previous surgery (C-section, appendix, fibroid surgery)
Infection (PID, tuberculosis)
Endometriosis
Inflammation inside abdomen
📌 Adhesions ಎಂದರೇನು?
ಅಡ್ಹೀಷನ್ಗಳು ಎಂದರೆ ಹೊಟ್ಟೆ ಅಥವಾ ಶ್ರೋಣಿಭಾಗದೊಳಗೆ ಉಂಟಾಗುವ ಗುಂಡಿಯಾದ (scar) ಕಣಗಳು.
ಇವು ಅಂಗಾಂಗಗಳನ್ನು (ಗರ್ಭಾಶಯ, ಅಂಡಾಶಯ, ಫಾಲೋಪಿಯನ್ ಟ್ಯೂಬ್, ಅಂತರ) ಒಂದಕ್ಕೊಂದು ಅಂಟಿಸಬಹುದು.
ಸಾಮಾನ್ಯ ಕಾರಣಗಳು:
ಹಿಂದಿನ ಶಸ್ತ್ರಚಿಕಿತ್ಸೆ (ಸೀಸೇರಿಯನ್, ಅಪೆಂಡಿಕ್ಸ್, ಫೈಬ್ರಾಯ್ಡ್)
ಸೋಂಕುಗಳು (PID, ಟಿಬಿ)
ಎಂಡೋಮೆಟ್ರಿಯೋಸಿಸ್
ಒಳಗಿನ ಉರಿಯೂತ

🔍 How are adhesions diagnosed?
Ultrasound may not always detect
Best diagnosed by laparoscopy (keyhole surgery)

ಅಲ್ಟ್ರಾಸೌಂಡ್ನಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾವಾಗಲೂ ಕಾಣಿಸದೇ ಇರಬಹುದು
