Indore: Juni Indore police have booked a shop manager for adulteration and endangering human life by selling poor quality protein powder.
Juni Indore police station in-charge Neeraj Menda said, “The action was taken on complaint of a man, Rakesh Kher, who developed serious health issues after consuming protein powder and was admitted to hospital. Acting on the complaint, the shop manager Ravindra was booked under sections 272 and 337 of IPC for adulteration of food and causing hurt by an act of endangering life or personal safety of others. Samples of the powder was also seized for testing.”
During preliminary investigation, it was found that the accused had made a page on a social media platform and was making the powder on his own after learning it from online platform. He made fake packaging to sell the powder like branded material at a lesser price, police said.
The complainant told police that he had come into contact with him through a social media platform. He then went to his shop to purchase the protein powder.
