First thing first, take care of your lower back by making your sitting posture right. Get a chair that lets you sit with your backbone straight and elbows at 90 degrees throughout your day.

Sitting continuously leads to many health problems like heart diseases and diabetes. So, prepare a proper schedule for your entire day which should include your time for workouts and short breaks that let you stand up for every hour.

Add meditation in your daily routine. Meditation improves your mental health especially in the times where you are working away from your colleagues and friends. It is the best medicine for your stress and helps in calming your mind.

Keep a water bottle next to you and set a reminder for every hour which reminds you to drink water continuously. Stay hydrated and stay healthy!

Most of us experience feeling dizzy after standing up from sitting or resting down. This condition is termed as Orthostatic Hypotension which is nothing but low blood pressure and is observed as a common case in most of the adults.

Causes of Hypotension are dehydration, side effects of few drugs, pregnancy, diabetes, aging, alcohol and drugs consumption and etc.

Here are 5 easy ways to treat low blood pressure:

Keep drinking water frequently to stay hydrated and avoid alcohol intake.

Start doing simple exercises in the mornings to increase the blood flow.

Compression stockings can help in improving blood circulation. Using them might help.

Do not sit in the same position for longer periods of time. This may increase pooling of blood in legs.

Cross check the medicines you are using. Consult a doctor if this condition is getting critical in your case.

What is GB syndrome and what are its symptoms?
Guillain-Barre (gee-YAH-buh-RAY) syndrome is a rare disorder in which your body’s immune system attacks your nerves.

Weakness and tingling in your extremities are usually the first symptoms. These sensations can quickly spread, eventually paralyzing your whole body.
Guillain-Barré syndrome often begins with tingling and weakness starting in your feet and legs and spreading to your upper body and arms. In about half of people with the disorder, symptoms begin in the arms or face. As Guillain-Barré syndrome progresses, muscle weakness can evolve into paralysis. Signs and symptoms of Guillain-Barré syndrome may also include:

1. Prickling, pins and needles sensations in your fingers, toes, ankles or wrists

2. Weakness in your legs that spreads to your upper body

3. Unsteady walking or inability to walk or climb stairs

4. Difficulty with eye or facial movements, including speaking, chewing or swallowing

Sciatica usually starts with a herniated disk in your lumbar (lower) spine. Your vertebrae (the bones that make up your spine) are separated and cushioned by flat, flexible, round disks of connective tissue. When a disk gets worn down — either because of an injury or just years of use — its soft center can begin to push out from the hard outer ring.

Sciatica pain relief stretches:

Reclining Yoga Pose

Sitting pigeon pose

Sitting spinal stretch

We recommend you to consult a physiotherapist before you start stretches.

Usually, common sports injuries are mild or moderate — there’s some damage, but everything is still in place. You can treat them at home using the RICE therapy method described in one of our previous posts. But you should expect that some common sports injuries may take months to heal, even with good treatment. If a sprain or strain is severe, however, the entire muscle, tendon, or ligament is torn away, and surgery may be needed.

Prevention tips for sports injuries

1. Firstly make sure that you are trained enough for your sport. Proper physical condition is required to play a particular sport.
2. Be prepared with proper equipment like shoes, guards, helmets and other protection.
3. Do not work with pain. If you get hurt, stop playing until you completely heal.
4. Rest enough. It’s an important component for proper training which makes you stronger and prevents weakness.
5. Warm-up before you start playing and practice stretches that suit your sports
