Every Minute Counts — because in a stroke, every second can save a life! observed 2025 with an awareness programme, organized by the Department of – Neurology, led by Dr. Vijaya Bhaskar and Dr. Deepthi Vemuri. The event was graced by our esteemed dignitaries, Dr. Suryaprakash Rao (Dean), Dr. Venkat Lakshman (DMS), Dr. G. Sambasiva Rao (Addl. MS), Dr. M. S. N. Murty (Professor & HOD), Dr. S. P. Vittal (Professor), Dr. V. V. N. Goutham (Professor), and Dr. Mahanti Sreenu (Associate Professor) — with the support and best wishes of Dr. Gitanjali Batmanabane (Pro Vice-Chancellor) and Dr. Karthik Bhogavalli (Head of Operations).

Every conversation saves a life! The Department of , , hosted & , a safe peer-to-peer dialogue space designed to help students navigate college life with empathy and awareness. This month’s session, titled “Stopping The Loss,” delved into understanding ***de not as an end, but as a struggle for hope.

Students from , , and came together with and to dispel myths, recognize warning signs, and discuss how society’s responses often oscillate between silence and sensationalism. The dialogue reinforced that su***de prevention is not just —it’s human, rooted in compassion, listening, and connection.

Women are nearly twice as likely to experience or during their lifetime, a fact that underscores the importance of prioritizing mental health awareness and support. In line with this, the Department of , , conducted an insightful and empowering session for members of Young Indians, where #36 participants engaged in open discussions focused on ’s wellness.

The session began with Dr. Srinivas Singisetti, who highlighted the sociocultural barriers that influence women’s health and access to care. Dr. T. Ramya Spandana led an interactive talk on “Beyond the Cycle: Navigating Premenstrual Emotional Challenges,” encouraging awareness and empathy around emotional changes during the premenstrual phase. In today’s rapidly evolving landscape of science, artificial intelligence ( ) has become an indispensable tool in shaping the future of . Recognizing this, a workshop titled “Empowering Postgraduates with Smart Research Skills” was organized on 23rd October 2025 at VDC, GITAM Deemed University, under the esteemed guidance of Dr. Gitanjali Batmanabane, Pro Vice-Chancellor (Medical Sciences), with the valuable support of Dr. Suryaprakash Rao, Dean, GIMSR.

As part of World Anaesthesia Day, the department conducted an outreach program at CHC Bheemili, led by Dr. Lavanya, Dr. Girish, residents, and B.Sc. interns.
