In Traditional Chinese Medicine, autumn belongs to the Metal Phase, linked to the Lungs (yin) and Large Intestine (yang).

Metal is about clarity, reflection, and letting go. Just as the trees release their leaves, this season invites us to release what no longer serves us - old habits, heavy emotions, or patterns that keep us stuck.

When the Lungs and Large Intestine are in balance, we can breathe deeply, grieve gently, and create space for fresh beginnings. We feel lighter, clearer, and more open to change.

But when they’re out of balance, we may hold on too tightly, become overly critical of ourselves, or sink into lingering grief.

To support yourself during this season, try:

☯️ Eating warming, nourishing foods like soups, root vegetables, and buckwheat.

☯️ Adding aromatic spices such as cinnamon, ginger, or cloves.

☯️ Drinking soothing pear kompot to moisten and nourish the Lungs.

☯️ Creating moments of stillness for reflection and gentle letting go.

☯️ Practicing deep, expansive breathwork to nourish the Lungs.

☯️ Moving with awareness in twists and forward folds to support the Large Intestine.

Stay tuned for more guidance, inspiration, and simple practices to help you move through autumn with balance and ease

Dear Friends,

After walking through a darker and challenging chapter, I’ve finally found myself back in my beloved Iceland. I’ve made a cozy home in Akureyri and I’m now looking for a nurturing space where I can continue offering my holistic bodywork sessions.

If you happen to know of a place that feels like it could be a good fit, I would be so grateful for your help 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

It’s late summer - but in Iceland, where I live, the seasons blur into each other. The sky shifts, the light changes, but the transitions are subtle and easy to miss. It can make it tricky to tune into the rhythms described in the ancient medicine I follow, yet I still find joy in spotting the small signs that a new season is quietly arriving.

I’m connecting with the Earth Element on every level I know and love: spending time in nature, picking berries, watching waterfalls, clouds, and sunsets. I connect through meditation, movement practice, and by tuning in to my body. I care for my digestive organs, my middle Jiao, Spleen, and Stomach.

Let the seasons inspire you and become your guide to well-being.

We're at the pick of the season of golden light, ripe fruit, and warm breezes that remind us to be present and playful.

Now is the moment to enjoy the rewards of what we've nurtured all year—whether it's relationships, dreams, or simple daily joys.

Let this be your permission to:

Slip to your heart ♥️

Laugh a little louder

Indulge in what delights you

Watch the sky turn orange without rushing

Dance barefoot

Say yes to adventures

Connect deeply—with yourself and with others.

This season, let your joy be loud. Let your love be generous. And most importantly, let yourself feel it all. 🌞

My inspiration for writing this post came exactly from something I’d like to help you avoid — getting sick.

This past month has been quite challenging for me, and it took a toll on my immune system — or as I like to call it, my Wei Qi. I ended up in bed for over a week, and I know exactly what I did wrong.

So if you’d like to learn from my mistakes and protect your own energy, swipe through the post.

Thank you so much for being here!

First post of the year calls for something special!

This dish is a perfect blend of earthiness and immune-boosting goodness, wrapped in the vibrant hues of love & joy ❤️

Here's to nourishing our bodies and hearts this year!

Ingredients:

2 medium beetroots, peeled and diced

1 cup red lentils, rinsed

2 medium potatoes, peeled and cubed

1 red onion, finely chopped

1-inch piece of ginger, grated

1 tsp powdered reishi

1 tsp astragalus root (powder or steeped tea)

1 tsp warming spices (e.g., cumin, coriander, turmeric, cinnamon)

2 eggs (for poaching)

Fresh parsley, chopped

1 tbsp roasted black sesame seeds

1 tbsp roasted pumpkin seeds

Olive oil, salt, and pepper to taste

Instructions:

In a pot, heat some olive oil over medium heat. Sauté the chopped red onion and grated ginger until fragrant.

Add the diced beetroots and potatoes. Sauté for 5 minutes. Stir in the warming spices, ensuring everything is coated.

Add the red lentils and 4 cups of water (or broth). If using astragalus root in tea form, substitute part of the water with the tea. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer until the lentils and vegetables are soft (about 20-25 minutes).

Stir in the reishi powder and adjust seasoning with salt and pepper. Simmer for another 5 minutes.

In a separate pot, bring water to a gentle simmer. Crack each egg into a cup and gently slide it into the water. Poach for 3-4 minutes for a runny yolk or longer for a firmer texture. Remove with a slotted spoon.

Ladle the beetroot and lentil mixture into bowls. Top with a poached egg. Sprinkle with roasted sesame seeds, pumpkin seeds, and chopped parsley.

Drizzle with a bit of olive oil if desired and serve immediately for a hearty, nourishing meal.

Enjoy!

Happy Winter Solstice!

Today marks a moment of hope and renewal.
As we pass the longest night of the year, the return of the yang begins. Each day bringing us closer to light and brighter moments ahead. This is especially true for those of us in the northern hemisphere. And probably even more so for those living in the extremes like I do.

The darkest day of the year invites us to slow down, reflect, and delve deeper into ourselves. Let’s use this time to dream, to reconnect, and to embrace the stillness.

Winter Season = Water Season

"That which offers no resistance can overcome the hardest substances."
~Lao Tzu

Water teaches us to flow, to navigate, not control.
To be present.
To release the past.
To stop obsessing over the future.

Water is both soft and powerful. It chooses the path of least resistance.

Embrace this wisdom in the Winter season.
Nourish yourself as water nourishes everything it touches.

Stay still when it's time to be still.

I'm happy to inform that this is a Hot Soup Season! 🍲 🔥

If you haven't started yet, switch into soup cooking on a daily basis.

Following seasonal changes is to be in tune with nature and with your environment. Your body will not appreciate big salads, icecream and lemonade in this time of the year.

Support your digestion system with long, slow-cooked meals. Choose root vegetables, healthy and good quality fats and protein. Add ginger, fennel and thyme.
We need some Yang in food during the colder days.

And most of all, COOK WITH A SMILE!
Your food needs good energy ✨
Experiment, enjoy, have fun!

So what's the soup you're going to cook tomorrow? Share in a comment.

For nearly 15 years, I've been visiting and revisiting Portugal—a country that has become very close to my heart. Here, I'm sharing three photographs taken of me over that time, along with my spontaneous reflections on the woman I see in them.

Photograph no 3

Baby Aga was exploring, experimenting, seeking, and searching. She had high expectations for life and was very self-critical. I love that she was fearless and had a hundred ideas of who she could become.

Photograph no 2

After pushing herself so hard and putting so much pressure on herself, she decided to stop trying to meet the expectations she felt were being placed on her by the world around her. I’m proud of her for choosing to follow the path of her heart.

Photograph no 1

Aga now chooses the path of least resistance and goes with the flow of life. She embraces all experiences and has finally learned how to be fully present in the here and now.

As we enter the yin time of the year, it's important to take care of our yang, inner warmth, and digestive fire to keep the Qi flowing.

Warm beverages such as broth and kompot can be supportive. Fruit kompot is an excellent way to stay hydrated and keep the belly happy when consumed warm.

Start with this simple recipe and then explore more. Experiment with different fruits and spices. How about pears with anise? Plums with cloves? Perhaps try cardamom?

Have fun experimenting!

For a simple apple kompot, you will need:

- 3 apples
- 1 cinnamon stick
- Water

Combine everything in a pot. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally.

Once boiling, reduce the heat and let it simmer for another 15-20 minutes.

Enjoy!

Helping people by the art of massage

I believe there is an art to the practice of massage therapy. The art that needs to be protected through the continued use of empathy. My aim is to help others, and I want to do it by using the art of massage.

I'm a Certified Massage Therapist and an independent practitioner. My approach is holistic with the goal of healing the pain. To experience my massage is to experience my deep passion and natural empathy.

Holistic Massage treats the body as one, focusing not only on the physical but also the emotional and mental well-being of the receiver. During the session, I combine rhythmical, long strokes, deep tissue massage, compression, acupressure, fascial work, and other techniques depending on your needs. This kind of massage allows the body’s natural healing abilities, helps to eleviate muscle tension, reduce stress and pain, improve circulation, and much more.

I've learned the art of massage from different places in the world, therefore in my massage sessions, I combine various techniques that come from the classic, deep tissue and Eastern style of massage. Currently, I’m doing a degree level qualification in Clinical and Sports Massage in Brighton, UK.
