Hi! Thank you for stopping by my page. My name is Erny, I am here:
I was born and raised in a small town of Sumatra island, Indonesia. I have lived and worked in Malaysia, Singapore, Japan, Hong Kong and Turks and Caicos Islands. In 2013, I served as the resident yoga teacher for Como Shambhala Retreat – Parrot Cay, Turks and Caicos Islands. In 2014, Parrot Cay was awarded Best for Yoga by Spafinder Wellness Travel Awards. During these two years, I had abundant opportunities to work and grow with various level of practitioners. I am currently based in Florence teaching group and private lessons and discovering and savouring this beautiful city.
I am a certified E-RYT200 yoga teacher with Yoga Alliance, and have received intensive well-rounded training with Yandara Yoga Institute on the beautiful island of Bali. I am grateful to cross path with these beautiful teachers: Craig Perkins, Shane Perkins, Kate Moll, Alison Eaton, Noah Maze, Leslie Kaminoff, Tiffany Cruikshank, Martin Kirk and Jo Phee, to name a few. With Como Shambhala, I’ve had the opportunity to assist yoga retreat and to study with Elena Brower, Andrea Curry and Christina Curry.
I draw inspirations for both my practice and teaching from traditional Hatha yoga, Yin Yoga, Vinyasa Flow and Restorative Yoga. I encourage practice that serve the needs of your own body through awareness of body and breathe. I present the teaching of yoga in a light and kind approach that is effective and suitable for all level of practitioners, especially those who are new to yoga. I believe in having a safe space for practice, feeling the connection and most importantly, to have fun along the way. My intuitiveness and willingness to learn allows me to tailor a practice that fits your needs.
Besides being with my mat, I am an avid scuba diver. Yoga enhances my scuba diving experience with greater breathing capacity and a calmer state of mind. I spend my time to study about nutriments of life and practice mindfulness that I have learned from Thay (Thich Nhat Hanh) and his Sangha. Everyday I thrive to live in the present moment by smiling and breathing.
On my free time, I enjoy traveling, walking, cooking and making arts. Those are simple things in life that enriches me beyond words.
