You can argue with me.
You can’t argue metabolism and biology.

Every restrictive plan looks disciplined in week one.
By week three, your metabolism has entered the chat.

I’m not trying to ruin the fun or not help you with your goals.
I’ve just seen how this ends.

If you’re tired of the pushback cycle and want to understand what your body is actually doing when you’re dieting that’s exactly what we break down inside our membership.

Real physiology.
Real strategy.
No drama.

Happy Valentine’s Day from Jill & Mateus!
These Valentine’s cards are rooted in what I believe as a dietitian:
Food is not a moral test.
Your body is not a problem to solve.
Care works better than control.
If any of these made you exhale a little, that’s not an accident.
That’s what safety around food feels like 💗

Marketing is designed to feel personal.
Especially in a culture that is busy, overworked, and stretched thin.

So when a message sounds simple, bold, and emotionally charged — pause.

Complex systems rarely have slogan-sized solutions.

You don’t have to defend it.
You don’t have to attack it.
You can just understand it.

Once you see the strategy, you get to decide how much power it has over you.

5 things I wouldn’t do as a dietitian 👇
1 - Demonize foods
Food doesn’t have moral value. Fear doesn’t improve health, understanding does.
2 - Chase weight loss at the expense of well-being
If it costs your relationship with food, your energy, or your mental health, it’s too expensive.
3 - Ignore hunger cues “for discipline”
Ignoring your body isn’t discipline. It’s disconnection.
4 - Promise quick fixes
Sustainable change is rarely flashy, but it actually works.
5 - Assume one approach works for everyone
Bodies, histories, cultures, and brains are different. Nutrition should reflect that.
Health is not a punishment.
Food is not a test you pass or fail.

Which fitness trackers have you started using? How have they been helpful for you? Where are you finding them getting in the way with your health goals? If you’re confused like many about which one to begin using reach out we’re here to help! When data leads to guilt and rigidity… it’s time to figure out how to use this data for you and not against you.

When the World Health Organization classified processed meat in the same evidence category as smoking, they were saying this:
   •   The evidence is strong that a relationship exists
   •   NOT that the risk level is the same

Think confidence in data, not severity of harm.

**Same category = same certainty of evidence
**Different magnitude = vastly different risk.

The WHO never said:
** “Eating bacon is as dangerous as smoking”
**“Avoid processed meat at all costs”
“**One slice of bacon = one cigarette”

Keep this in mind: balance, variety, and moderation!

Wonder if you’re eating the way you need to be? Reach out we’re here to support you!

This isn't anti supplement, medication or blame.

When food guidance talks about "personal responsibility" many people hear shame- that reaction makes sense.

I think the message is really: passive solutions can't replace active participation.

These take more time but can work better long-term.

The question isn't "Am I failing" Its "where am I relying on passive fixes instead of building sustainable habits (active participation).

Food doesn’t heal when it’s weaponized.
Nutrition works best when it’s supportive, not a way to shame. We think the NEW balanced “vaccine” of a food guide pyramid did a little bit of shaming. There are some truths and some things to reconsider! Be an informed, consumer.

Welcome to The Bite — the only talk show that’s actually easy to swallow. ☕️

We’re your hosts, Mateus and Jill, and we’re officially over the nutrition noise. Think of us like The View, but instead of celebrity gossip, we’re gossiping about the food pyramid (and girl, the tea is scalding).

We’re here to chew up the industry-funded nonsense and spit out the food-neutral truth. Today’s menu? That weirdly upside-down pyramid. Pull up a chair—there’s plenty of room at the table. 🥗🎤
