Ricordiamolo ancora.....gli interventi Intensivi e Precoci modificano in positivo la traiettoria di sviluppo di un bambino con DSA. Lo dice la ricerca scientifica!

Can an intensive ABA intervention (EIBI) steepen the developmental trajectory of children with autism?
Using data from 453 children with autism drawn from prior outcome studies, Klintwall and colleagues found that children receiving Early and Intensive Behavioral Intervention (EIBI) showed significant increase in both IQ and adaptive behavior trajectories.
Children in the control group received comparison or usual-care interventions.
Results are more than interesting...
------------------------------------------------
From intake to follow-up (after the intervention), the mean IQ learn rate was 1.03 in EIBI versus 0.59 in controls: children in the EIBI group were 75% faster than children in the control group.
Adaptive behavior learn rate was 0.80 versus 0.58: children in the EIBI group were 38% faster than children in the control group.
Treatment intensity also mattered: each additional hour per week predicted a higher combined learn rate. Age at intake did not predict learning rate.
That matters because it cuts against a lazy caricature: the idea that intensive ABA intervention merely produces cosmetic score changes or “trains to the test.”
The children in EIBI were not standing still more politely. They were learning faster. Variability remained substantial, but the direction of the data is not ambiguous.
------------------------------------------------
The figure shown here makes the point clear: children in the intensive ABA group, on average, shifted their trajectory upward toward the typical developmental range.
The issue is not whether children with autism can learn; of course they can. The issue is whether we provide an intervention strong enough to accelerate that learning and narrow the developmental gap.
Intensive ABA (EIBI) appears to be that stronger intervention.
