🪷 The Way (Tao) is trained — just like everything else

How can we understand this ancient wisdom in today’s world?

It’s not about some distant philosophy or lofty enlightenment.
It’s something much simpler — the ability to quiet the mind.

It means recognizing the hype, understanding what triggers it in modern culture, and learning to switch off the internal alarm.

Hype activates the nervous system into a fight-or-flight mode — and when that happens again and again, the body loses its ability to self-regulate.

This is why the practice exists.
These ancient internal methods are, at their core, tools for training the mind and the nervous system.

Through gentle yet deep movement and the sensing of Qi, you gradually train your inner architecture.
You learn how to create space — a stillness that isn’t empty, but alive with connection to your essence.

Tao isn’t a mystical concept.
Tao is a practice.
Just like you train muscles, nutrition, or daily habits — you can train your Path, the one ancient wisdom calls Tao.

To begin, I’m sharing one of the fascinating facts about Mingmen (命門).
Mingmen is one of the energy points in the body that you only truly start to feel and understand after consistent practice — when the body learns how to work with and sense energy.

My Journey with Qigong: Enhancing Mind-Body Efficiency

As I continue my journey with Qigong at Yin-Yang Academy, I’ve been reflecting on the impact this practice has on the mind and body.

Qigong training is designed to make our bodies function more efficiently, tapping into our innate capabilities.

Here’s a brief overview of the stages involved in increasing the efficiency of the body’s functioning:

💫Increasing the Health of the Tangible Body

💫Increasing the Efficiency of the Body’s Energetic Functioning

💫Experiencing Alchemical Changes

💫Transforming Shen

Right now, I’m still focusing on mastering phase one and gradually moving into phase two. Phases three and four are ahead of me, and I expect they will take more time. However, even practicing Qigong just to relax the mind and body is a significant success.

I’ve found that when my body isn’t feeling its best, it’s much harder to focus and relax my mind. That’s why understanding how to move and function the body correctly is so important.

Mastering the basics takes time, and patience is key. I’m excited to continue this journey and see where it leads.

For anyone looking to enhance their overall well-being, I wholeheartedly recommend diving into Qigong. It’s a journey worth taking, with transformative benefits that unfold over time.

WORKING WITH THE MIND:

I am someone who finds it nearly impossible to prepare for guided meditation, given my personality. :)

However, I desire and am aware of the positive effects of this state, so I sought a different path.

Connecting the mind and body goes back thousands of years and involves the presence of an intangible, unseen force that flows around our body. Each tradition has used this understanding to form various practices.

Some are based on meditation, others on cardiovascular exercise, and still others on stretching and strengthening the body in different ways.

Although the ultimate goals may differ, there is a common belief that to elevate the spirit, we must first understand and work with the various elements that make up our existence.

OTHER ALTERNATIVES:

Qigong is an interesting practice that is often compared to a mix of yoga, asana, and meditation, but this is only partially true. Like the movements we commonly associate with yoga, there is a certain degree of working with the body in this way in Qigong, but this is where the similarities end. While yoga works to stretch and open up the body, Qigong aims to divide the body and reshape it from the inside out.

To compare Qigong to meditation, we must understand that meditation takes many forms, but in the majority of cases, it focuses solely on the practitioner’s consciousness.

In Qigong practice, we aim to develop a very specific mindset that indeed shares qualities with the mindset of meditation, but the route to getting there is quite different. Rather than going directly to consciousness-based exercises, we work with the tangibility of the body first, before progressing to the subtler realm of the mind.

In Taoist philosophy, Tao (or “Way”) represents the natural order of the universe, the flow of life that guides and connects all things.

Tao emphasizes living in harmony with the natural world, understanding that every part of the universe is interconnected and interdependent.

Just as flocks of birds and schools of fish move in perfect synchronization, we humans are part of this larger flow, influencing and being influenced by it.

ŠOLA QI GONGA Tamara Tami Smonker ( april - maj - junij).
Vsak torek ob 19:oo

V vseh svojih 26 letih poučevanja različnih gibalnih in borilnih tehnik sem spoznala, da je povezava med telesom, umom in dušo ključnega pomena. Ja večina to poudarja že desetletja.

Ampak eno je vedeti, drugo je to živeti. Najpomembneje pa je odkriti pot učenja, ki nam odgovarja.

Sama sem to globjo povezanost predvsem med umom in telesom (zadnja leta verjamem tudi v dušo) spoznala preko praks Qi Gong-a, ki sem jih začela najprej izvajati zaradi gracioznega gibanja, sedaj pa zaradi pozitivnih učinkov.

Ker v meni gori ogenj škorpjiona in živi duša rakice, svojo energijo izražam predvsem skozi fizično/telesno ekspresivnost. Po treh letih prakse in spoznavanja Qi Gong teorij, sem pripravljena deliti svoje izkušnje naprej vsem, ki bi želeli spoznati pozitivne učinke in čudovite gibalne vzorce teh 4000 let starih kitajskih veščin.

Naj še navržem kot zanimivost, da ima Qi Gong več kot 1000 različnih stilov izvajanja. Sama jih sedaj poznam kar nekaj in jih bom z veseljem delila vsak torek ob 19.oo skozi šolo Qi Gonga, ki bo potekala naslednje 3 mesece!

Želela bi deliti nekaj zares zanimivega iz sveta Tradicionalne kitajske medicine (TKM), ki je tesno povezano s konceptom Yin in Yang energij - govorimo o Organski telesni uri. Gre za fascinanten ritem, ki ima pomembno vlogo pri našem počutju.

V TKM naše telo sledi 24-urnemu ciklu, pri čemer je vsak časovni odsek povezan z določenim organskim sistemom. Ne gre le za fizično plat; odraža naravni tok energije v nas.

Ko dan preide v noč, te Yin energija, ki je pogosto povezana s tvojo žensko platjo, objame. To je čas obnove, zdravljenja in tihe introspekcije. Nasprotno pa, ko sonce vzide, nastopi Yang energija. Ta predstavlja aktivno in dinamično silo ter podpira tvojo prebavo, fizično gibanje in vitalnost.

V YinYang Akademiji zelo cenim občutljivo ravnotežje med Yin in Yang. Verjamem, da razumevanje in usklajevanje naših praks z Organsko telesno uro lahko ponudi vpogled v bolj harmonično življenje. Od prefinjenih gibov Qigonga do globokih tokov Tai Chija, sem vodena s temi starodavnimi ritmi.

I am beyond excited to announce the release of my passion project, "The Coach's Arsenal - Women Edition." This manual is a labor of love that I've poured my heart and soul into, and I can't wait to share it with all the aspiring female coaches out there who share my love for martial arts. 💪

Let me take a moment to share my personal journey with you. I started my martial arts training at a young age and quickly fell in love with the discipline, focus, and empowerment that it brought into my life. As the years went by, my passion for martial arts grew, and I knew deep down that I wanted to share this incredible art form with others.

However, I faced many challenges along the way. I struggled to find resources and guidance specifically tailored to female coaches. That's when I realized the need for a comprehensive manual that not only addresses the unique needs of female coaches but also empowers them to make a lasting impact in the martial arts community.

"The Coach's Arsenal - Women Edition" is the culmination of years of experience, research, and dedication. It is packed with practical coaching techniques, empowering coaching philosophy, and invaluable business strategies to help you thrive as a female coach in the martial arts industry.

My hope is that this manual will reach the young souls out there who are equally captivated by the art of martial arts and see themselves as future leaders and teachers. I want to inspire and empower the next generation of female martial arts coaches to unleash their full potential and make a positive impact on the lives of their students.
