👀All cities have haunted places, but according to paranormal investigator Antonio Zamudia, the historic centre of Mexico City is among the most haunted places in the world, for "its history is written in blood".
"Las Casa de las Brujas" ("The House of the ") is located at Río de Janeiro 56, in La Colonia Roma and is named after Barbara ("La Panchita") Guerrero, who lived in the elegant Art Deco building from around 1920 til her death in 1975. "La Panchita" is rumoured to have been a sadist who conducted Satanic rituals and blood sacrifices.
Many people were impressed by her abilities as a healer, and seer. Others believed her to be a fraud.
After the Mexican Revolution, her fame was such that many politicians and other famous people sought out her services.
Although she died in the 1970's, many claim to have heard and seen strange things like screams and wailing, dragging chains, tables and chairs that move of their own accord and ghostly presences moving throughout the building.
There are even some who claim to have seen the ghost of the old, half-blind healer/ witch "La Panchita" herself, wandering through the corridors of the building....
