Look inward nowhere else

"In short, we must consider speech before it is spoken, the background of silence which does not cease to surround it and without which it would say nothing. Or to put the matter another way, we must uncover the threads of silence that speech is a mixed together with," Maurice Merleau-Ponty.

Ashtanga Mattia has studied with many master yoga teachers from the famed Mysore, India. His main teacher is the renowned BNS Iyengar, a direct student of Sri T. Krishnamacharya, who he has assisted and taught under in recent years. His devotion to the practice and teaching of Ashtanga yoga in its most authentic form is truly inspiring to experience. This passion to communicate the profound benefits of a daily mysore Ashtanga practice can be felt through his words and adjustments in the classroom as well as his attention to the small details.

After almost a decade spent in India for his yogic studies, Mattia embarked on another path of training, entering the realm of Thai Massage. His deep care for therapeutic touch took him directly to the source of this healing path, northern Thailand, where he studied with some of the premier teachers including Jack Chaiya and Ajarn Sinchai Sukparset. His hands are a trademark in the yoga community in Mysore, helping people to recover from physical pain and injury or for the simple joy of relaxation.
