📚 Every Day is a School Day 🌿
Today’s golden nugget came from an incredible lecture with Mr. N. Madipola at Jersey General Hospital on the latest updates in endometriosis.
One fascinating insight I learned:
Sometimes infertility in endo patients isn't due to blocked fallopian tubes—but because the o***y is adhered to the posterior vaginal wall. This anatomical shift can prevent the o***y from reaching behind the uterus to “present” the egg to the opposite fallopian tube, where the fimbriae (those little finger-like structures) would usually scoop it up during ovulation.
💥 Takeaway? Endometriosis is complex and affects far more than just pelvic pain. Hormone mx is needed for the condition and physio, psychology and pain clinic is needed for pain management.
So grateful to keep learning and bringing this knowledge into my clinical practice 💪🏽
