Penny Henderson, Breastfeeding Coach, Chiropractor and Acupuncturist I’m Penny Henderson — a qualified Chiropractor, Acupuncturist and experienced Breastfeeding Coach based in Jersey.

Jersey Chiropractor, Breastfeeding and Infant feeding Coach and Acupuncturist experienced health professional supporting women in pregnancy, the fourth trimester and newborns with feeding difficulties, fussing or tongue tie diagnosis. With over 25 years of clinical experience, My area of special interest is in supporting pregnant women, new mums, and newborn babies through gentle, expert care. I

provide home visits for breastfeeding support with treatment of newborns experiencing restrictions which may be contributing to latching and feeding issues, or for babies who have a tongue tie or a recent tongue tie snip. I offer 'empower' hours to women in late pregnancy for both breast and bottle feeding. I bring a unique combination of regulated healthcare training and hands-on experience. I provide home visits for breastfeeding and infant feeding support, offering compassionate, evidence-based guidance to help you feed your baby confidently and comfortably. As a McTimoney Chiropractor, I also have a special interest in treating women during pregnancy — helping relieve pelvic girdle pain, sciatica, and back/neck discomfort, and encouraging optimal positioning for birth. Using the gentle cranio-sacral technique, I also treat newborns who may be showing signs of tension, tongue ties or latch difficulties, or discomfort that can affect feeding and settling. Whether you're preparing to breastfeed or navigating the early days with your newborn, I’m here to help you feel informed, supported, and empowered.

Could your baby benefit from Chiropractic Care? Gentle, safe, and calming support for newborns
Nervous system focused
Light touch techniques
Popular with new parents

Feeding feels difficult?
If feeding feels challenging, your baby may be experiencing tension in the jaw, neck or body. Chiropractic care for babies is gentle and supports how the nervous and musculoskeletal systems work together for better comfort at feed time.

Baby prefers one side?
Does your baby only turn or feed well from one side? This could be due to physical tension, often from birth. Chiropractors trained in working with babies use techniques so light, your baby might sleep through treatment!

Wind, reflux & colic challenges
Parents often seek support when their baby is unsettled, windy, or struggles with reflux. Chiropractic care supports the nervous system, which plays a key role in how babies process and respond to their environment.

Tense or hard to settle
Some babies seem “tight” or hard to cuddle, especially after a fast or assisted birth. Chiropractic care for newborns is extremely gentle and aims to support overall function and relaxation.

Worried about tongue tie?
Sometimes feeding issues are blamed on tongue tie, but other factors can be involved. Chiropractic care may support babies with feeding tension, in consultation with your midwife, GP or health provider.

Gentle, safe & supportive
Chiropractic care for babies is gentle, safe, and becoming increasingly popular with new parents, midwives, and lactation consultants.
If you're unsure whether it could help your baby, get in touch, I’d love to chat. #

Back or pelvic pain stopping you from enjoying your pregnancy, struggling to work or lifting your toddler? Pregnancy is an incredible journey, but it can also bring its share of aches and pains.

As your centre of gravity shifts with a growing bump, posture can be affected, leading to increased stress on the spine, pelvis, and surrounding muscles and ligaments.

Understanding and maintaining good biomechanics is crucial for minimising discomfort, optimising pelvic alignment for labour, and supporting overall well-being throughout pregnancy.

As a McTimoney Chiropractor with a special interest in pre and postnatal care, I can help you navigate these changes with comfort and ease.

From easing back pain and pelvic girdle pain to improving your posture gentle chiropractic adjustments can make a world of difference.

I also incorporate acupuncture treatment to my treatments for those mums who enjoy acupuncture.

Want to experience the benefits of chiropractic and/or acupuncture during your pregnancy? Book a consultation today , I am excited to work together to support a healthy and comfortable journey for you and your baby.

Understanding Your Sciatic Nerve: The Body's Information Highway!

Have you ever wondered why sciatic pain can feel so different from other types of back pain? The answer lies in the unique nature of your sciatic nerve – the longest and widest nerve in your body. Like a complex telecommunications cable, the sciatic nerve begins in your lower back, divides into two branches, and runs through your hips, buttocks, and down each leg, finally ending in your feet.

When this nerve becomes compressed or irritated, it's similar to stepping on a garden hose – the flow is disrupted, causing various sensations along its path. This explains why you might feel pain in your leg even though the actual problem originates in your back.

What makes sciatica particularly challenging is that the nerve can be affected at multiple points along its journey, much like how a train line can be disrupted at various stations.

The good news? Your body has an amazing capacity for healing when given the right support. Just as a kinked garden hose returns to normal when the pressure is released, your sciatic nerve can function properly again with appropriate care and treatment.

This is where we can help, identifying where and why the nerve is being compressed is the first step toward effective relief. Swiftly followed by treatment and advice. You can book online or message for advice!
