We have had a fantastic morning with Jersey Tri Club at the Lido .We covered the sequence for Adult Drowning Cpr, Sudden Collapse the use of an AED, before taking to the water to learn how to treat a swimmer with cramp, swim failure and how to turn an unconscious casualty over in the water but remembering firstly to never to put ourselves in danger to help others always calling 999 and asking do the Coastguard .
The Jersey Tri Club are donating a voluntary payment to the wonderful Philip's Footprints , A huge thank you to Danny and the team at the Lido for the floor space and to my amazing support team Ailie Brown and Gerry Leonard

I am delighted to open bookings for our Royal Life Saving Society UK - RLSS UK Save a Baby and Child's Life Workshop on Thursday 14 of October 2025 from 7-9pm at St Georges Preparatory School
The Cost is £25pp.

The Workshop will cover:-
Baby and Child CPR
Baby and Child Choking sequence
Febrile Seizures
Meningitis
Drowning Prevention

I cant thank Carmella and her team at Jersey Heritage enough for the opportunity to show case the RLSS South Region Royal Life Saving Society UK - RLSS UK water safety Initiative.

As you may know , Scott and I are an approved and regulated Training Provider for the Royal Life Saving Society UK - RLSS UK.

Over the years we have run a vast number of First Aid Courses,Lifesaving and Community workshops for our local community .

We are delighted again to received EXCELLANT status for this years Annual External Quality Assurance Audit.

As you can tell we are pleased as punch as Scott and I always strive to deliver cost effective, well structured, quality assured First Aid courses to our local community.

I am am delighted to be able to represent the Royal Life Saving Society UK - RLSS UK and RLSS South Region at the Jersey Heritage Discover Beaches Day on Saturday 6 of September at Ouaisne. I will have a stall promoting water safety .A massive thank you to Jill Bailey for all your support in helping me with supplies of educational water safety information to have on the stall.

A FUN DAY AT THE BEACH

The school holidays are almost over but summer is still here! Join us next Saturday (6 Sept) from 11am-4pm at Ouaisné for our FREE ‘Discover Beaches’ event, in partnership with the aspiring Jersey Island Geopark. It promises to be an afternoon filled with fun activity, including face painting, sandcastles, crafts, rock-pooling and walks.

Uncover the secrets of Jersey's stunning coastline. Explore the fascinating history of La Cotte de St Brelade, home to Neanderthals and their hunts for woolly mammoth. Find out how the tides shape our shores and dive into Blue Marine Foundation's virtual reality experience to learn about climate change and how it impacts our ocean. Get creative with sandcastle building and beach crafts and chat with Nicky Holgate-Smith from RLSS about sea safety. Discover the healing power of seashells and jewellery making with .

Just a quick note to say a massive Thank you to everyone who attended our Free Lifesaving workshop at the Lido this morning, Scott, Allie and I enjoyed meeting you all .

A huge Thank you also goes to Gerry Leonard , Marcus Calvani and BBC Radio for all their support.

practiced doing the Adult Drowning CPR sequence and everyone had a go on our training Automated External Defibrillators.

We were able to have a look at the AED we have at Lido, Jersey and how to access the locked box .

For our water based practical skills we had a look at the Rescue line which will be based at the Lido alongside the Life Rings and how to use them.

We then looked at casualty recognition and practiced using our rescue ropes for Casualty who is in reaching distance.

As we said on the workshop we never put our selves in danger by entering the water to help others, you always dial 999 and call the Jersey Coastguard.

We will be looking to run another workshop Sunday 7 of September 9am to 11am .

Happy New Year!!

We are delighted to be OPEN for bookings for our first Save a Baby and Child's Life Workshop of 2025 , to be held on Thursday 6 of February 2025 at the fabulous Jersey Sea Cadets & Royal Marines Cadets Training Room.

The workshop covers Child and Baby CPR and Choking sequences, Febrile convulsions, Meningitis and drowning prevention.

The workshop costs £20.00 per person , drink refreshments are available to purchase onsite for a minimal fee

We have 12 spaces available.

Our workshops can take place in the comfort of your own home with your friends and family at a day and time to suit you.

SAFER PREGNANCY PROJECTS: We've recently been stocking up more pregnancy wellbeing wallets at the Antenatal Clinic and it's a good time for a safer pregnancy reminder.

If you are worried about ANYTHING don't think that you're bothering the midwives, don't think you'll leave it til tomorrow - please ring and talk to a midwife. They are there, 24/7 - for you.

It's easy to ignore symptoms when you're busy or think that you can't ring at 2am - but it doesn't matter what the time if something feels 'off' DON'T WAIT - please please get it checked out!

Since 2016 we've given out nearly 3,00 Mothers & Others guides, 8,000 wallets and have just purchased another 1,000 wallets! Wow! Printed with useful information on taking care of yourself and baby during pregnancy, it also lists symptoms that mean you should contact a midwife. So, again - if you're concerned with anything - PLEASE DON'T WAIT. Get it checked out!
