The Thyroid Gland is situated in the front of the throat and has two lobes that lie on either side of the windpipe. It releasing thyroid hormones into the bloodstream that regulate metabolism and Growth and Developement.

If you have thyroid problems your Doctor may refer you to have a thyroid ultrasound which is able to show different areas of the thyroid.

Additionally a special biopsy under ultrasound guidance can also be performed which is able to investigate certain cells found in the thyroid.

Pap smears are examination that scrape some of the tissue from the cervix to send to the laboratory to check for cancer cells. We encourage all women to have this important study done in order to detect it early. If found early, there is a good chance of a cure.
