On December 8th, 2025, the regular meeting was held online.
There was no guest, but it was a warm meeting as usual.
The meeting was rich in content and enjoyable, with one speech in English and the other in Japanese, followed by table topics.
Both speeches were truly thought‑provoking.
The Table Topics session ran longer than usual, with the theme of keeping contests in mind and challenging ourselves with slightly more difficult questions. Each member gave impromptu speeches, bringing their own creativity and resourcefulness to the moment.

2025年12月8日、例会がオンラインで開催されました。
ゲストはいませんでしたが、いつものように心温まる例会になりました。
準備スピーチは英語1本と、日本語1本で、それに引き続きテーブルトピックスと、今回も内容豊かで楽しい例会になりました。
２本のスピーチはともに考えさせられるものでした。テーブルトピックスの時間はいつもより長く、コンテストを意識し少し難しいお題に挑戦することがテーマでした、メンバーは皆それぞれ工夫して即興でスピーチしていました。横浜日吉トーストマスターズクラブは、メンバーが英語と日本語の両方でスピーチを行うバイリンガルクラブです。

On October 27, 2025, we held a hybrid meeting on Zoom and in person, and it turned out to be a very special gathering for our club.

We enjoyed two wonderful speeches. The first, delivered in Japanese, shared heartfelt thoughts about the conflict she feels when speaking. The second, given in English, told a humorous story about time spent at the Osaka Expo that included a smart life lesson. The audience greatly enjoyed both speeches, and the atmosphere was warm and engaging.

In addition to the speeches, we were happy to welcome one guest. We also had the honor of initiating a new member into our club. Our club members also enjoyed a lively Table Topics session with a fall theme conducted in English.

It was truly a meeting to remember. Thank you to everyone who joined us!

2025年10月27日, Zoomと対面のハイブリッドで例会を開催し、クラブにとって特別な集まりとなりました。

まず、日本語のスピーチでは「話すときに感じる葛藤」について心のこもった考えが語られました。続いて英語のスピーチでは、大阪万博でのユーモラスな体験談が紹介され、そこから得られた賢い人生の教訓も共有されました。どちらのスピーチも参加者に大変好評で、会場は温かく、盛り上がった雰囲気に包まれました。

また、この日はゲストを1名お迎えし、新しいメンバーの入会式も行われました。さらに、秋をテーマにした英語のテーブルトピックスセッションも楽しみ、笑顔あふれる時間となりました。

ご参加くださった皆さま、本当にありがとうございました。思い出に残る例会になりました。

On September 22, 2025, our regular meeting was held both in person and via Zoom. We were pleased to welcome one guest to the session.
As always, the meeting was engaging and full of meaningful content. We enjoyed two speeches in English and one in Japanese, followed by a Table Topics session conducted in Japanese. The first English speech shared insightful perspectives on English language education, while the second speaker reflected on her personal journey and experiences within Toastmasters. Both speeches were truly inspiring. The Japanese speaker shared his travel experience in Taiwan. It was a captivating and memorable story. The Table Topics theme was “What concerns us in our daily lives,” which sparked deep and thought-provoking responses from participants.
And guess what? At the end of the meeting, our guest happily announced she is joining us! With this new member, we’re excited to make our club even more fun and engaging, filled with learning opportunities together.

2025年9月22日、例会がハイブリッド形式で開催されました。
ゲストも1名参加いただき、いつものように内容豊富で楽しい時間となりました。
英語のスピーチが2本、日本語のスピーチが1本行われ、その後は日本語でのテーブルトピックスセッションが続きました。
1本目の英語スピーチでは英語教育に関する素晴らしい意見が共有され、2本目ではスピーカー自身のトーストマスターズ活動の歴史が語られました。どちらも非常に印象的なスピーチでした。日本語スピーチでは、台湾旅行の体験談が語られ、興味深く心に残る内容でした。テーブルトピックスのテーマは「私たちが日々懸念していること」で、参加者の深い思考を促す、非常に考えさせられるセッションとなりました。
そしてなんと例会の最後にゲストが入会宣言をしてくださいました。新たなメンバーを加え更に楽しく学びのあるクラブにしていきたいです。

Website Report of Yokohama-Hiyoshi Toastmaster Meeting
September 8, 2025
This was the 287th meeting of Yokohama-Hiyoshi Toastmasters Club. Starting time： 7:00 p.m. on Monday, September 8, 2025. And finish at 9:00 p.m. We had nine Toastmasters, including one guest. The meeting was done online. Call to order of the meeting was done by TM M. Check in was done by TM M. Introduction of the Toastmasters was done by TMOE TM O. IN the prepared speech, TM C made a presentation. Her project was “Writing a Speech with Purpose”. Her title was the speech was “Starting from the small step”. TM M was the evaluator of TM C. Table Topic Master was TM K. We had about five topics from TM K. After the 5-minute break, the second prepared speech was done by TM T. His Pathways: Engaging humor, Level 5. Project： Deliver your message with humor. Title: Golden rules in Mongolia. TM T made a speech about 14 minutes with humor. Individual Evaluation was done by TM O.
General evaluators were vacant, so all members did some evaluation. The award presentation was announced by TM O.
Best Performer:　TM T.
Most Improved Member: TM K.
Best Speaker: TM C.
TM C made a first Japanese speech with humor.
横浜日吉トーストマスターズクラブの第287例会は、2025年９月８日に英語と日本語によるスピーチで行われました。すべてオンラインで、９人の参加者がありました。アメリカ人で日本に長く住んでいるゲストは、トーストマスターズクラブの例会で話すのが初めての女性でした。彼女は、英語と日本語を上手に話し、柔らかな雰囲気作りに貢献しました。
TM Tは、“Golden rules in Mongolia”というテーマで、奥様と蒙古を訪問した経験を発表しました。「蒙古では、便所にトイレットペーパーを捨ててはいけません。トイレでは、紙を使わないで、手で洗うのです」とユーモアたっぷりに日本語でスピーチしました。

第286回通常例会：ゲスト2名を迎えて、新人さんのアイスブレークで盛り上がり！

7/28(月) に東急東横線日吉駅そばの慶應義塾大学の協生館7Fの会議室に、横浜界隈のトーストマスターズクラブから1名ずつ、2名のゲストをお迎えして、ミーティングを開催しました。ハイブリットミーティングなので、3名が自宅から、1名はなんと新幹線の車内から、Zoomで参加しました。

英語の準備スピーチは新人さんによるアイスブレーク。人となりがわかる内容だけでなく、ネイティブスピーカーならではの表現にも驚いたり、新鮮な時間でした。

日本語の準備スピーチは、前期会長によるストーリーテリング。バブルのころの車事情を思い起こさせる内容は、リズムよい語り口もあって面白かったです。ゲストで来ていただいた方に論評をお願いしたところ、シンプルにご自身が感じたこと共有し、普段我々のクラブでは聞くことのない、納得感のあるフィードバックを頂きました。

On Monday, July 28th, we held a meeting at the Keio University Kyoseikan 7F conference room, near Hiyoshi Station on the Tokyu Toyoko Line. We welcomed two guests, one from each of the Toastmasters Clubs in the Yokohama area. As it was a hybrid meeting, three members joined via Zoom from their homes, and surprisingly, one even joined from a Shinkansen (bullet train)!

The English prepared speech was an icebreaker by a new member. It was a refreshing experience, not only giving us insight into their personality but also surprising us with expressions unique to native speakers.

The Japanese prepared speech was a storytelling session by our former club president. The content, which brought back memories of car culture during Japan's bubble economy era, was quite entertaining thanks to their rhythmic narration. We asked one of our guests to provide an evaluation, and they simply shared their candid impressions, giving us insightful feedback that we don't usually hear in our club.

Yokohama Hiyoshi Toastmasters Club is a club where members deliver speeches in both Japanese and English. We hold meetings on the second and fourth Mondays from 7 PM to 9 PM, either online or in the Keio University Kyoseikan 7F conference room, near Hiyoshi Station on the Tokyu Toyoko Line. 2025年6月23日、例会がハイブリッド形式で開催されました。
ゲストも1名参加いただき、いつものように内容豊富で楽しい時間となりました。日本語でのスピーチが2件、続いて英語でのテーブルトピックスが行われました。
最初のスピーチは日本の伝統的な文学者についての情報が満載で、2番目のスピーチでは効果的な資料作成の方法を教えてもらうことができました。どちらのスピーチも大変印象的でした。

On June 23rd, 2025, the regular meeting was held both in person and on Zoom. One guest participated in the meeting.
The meeting was rich in content and fun as usual, with two speeches in Japanese, followed by table topics in English. The first speech was a great source of information about a traditional literary person in Japan, and the second one gave us the usual way to make effective materials. 【第3回 6/1 BBQ 特別例会レポート】

今年のバーべキュー特別例会は、6/1 日曜日の午後、昨年と同じく荻窪の風当邸屋上バルコニーで開催されました。今年で３回目になります。
前夜来の雨も止んで、明るい陽射しに時折涼しい風の渡る絶好の屋外BBQ日和で、OGとゲスト３名も加えて13名が参加しました。
ホストのＦさん夫妻初めBBQ実行委員各位のご尽力で準備万全、飲物も焼肉もたっぷり提供されてお腹は大満足、舌も滑らかに楽しく語らううちに初夏の陽は暮れなずんだのでした。
特筆すべきは、Kさん由来の宮崎県ふるさと納税返礼品たる牛肉で、味は勿論極上なばかりか、部位ごとにこじんまりとスライスしてパック詰めされており、焼きやすく食べやすい優れモノでした。次回以降もぜひ同県によしみを通じておいて下さい！
実はFさんはご自身の事業の関係で当面ヨコヒヨを離れることになりました。「特別な行事、特に年に一度のBBQには協力するよ」と云ってくれていますが、早く全面的に復帰してほしいものです。
６月23日(月) 19:00から21:00、慶応日吉でハイブリット例会があり、また６月30日19:00から21:00, zoom 特別例会に「AIをスピーチに取り入れよう」を目黒TMCの伊東雅人さんをお招きして開催します。ゲスト参加を心からお待ちしています。

【 # 3 BBQ Special Meeting on June 1 】
The special BBQ Meeting of Yokohama Hiyoshi Toastmasters Club was held on Sunday, June 1,, on the roof balcony of F-san's at Ogikubo. The rain in the previous night had stopped and it was a perfect afternoon for the outdoor BBQ. Those participated were 13 persons, including OG and guests from other clubs.
Thanks to the Hosts, Mr. & Mrs. F, and other BBQ Operation Team, everybody could enjoy formidable beef steaks and joyous drinks, together with leisury conversation. The beef meat was special from Miyazaki Prefecture which was presented to K-san as the home-land reward for his remarkable contribution to the prfectural budget.
Frankly speaking, F-san left YOKOHIYO, at least temporarily, for persuing his own business objectives. He promised to offer the site of BBQ in future as well, but it is earnstly hoped that he willl come back to the full membership as soon as possible.

As the club plannd, there will be a hybrid meeting on 23 June (Mon), 19:00-21:00, at Keio Hiyoshi, and a zoom special meeting on 30 June, 19:00-21:00, by Mr. Masato Ito of Meguro TMC on “Incorporating AI into Speech”.

（第281回横浜日吉TMC例会　ウェブサイトレポート）

5月26日(月)に第281回例会がハイブリッドで開催されました。

今回はテーブルトピックス（即興スピーチ）にスポットを当ててレポートしたいと思います。横浜日吉トーストマスターズクラブはバイリンガルクラブなので一ヶ月に日英のテーブルトピックスセッションが一回ずつあります。第4月曜日は英語で行われました。今回のテーブルトピックスのトピックは「AI」でした。先ずは”How do you use AI in your daily life?”という質問に始まり、”What concerns do you have with AI?”など、様々な角度からのAIについてのお題が出されました。質問も興味深かったのですが、どんな即興スピーチがされるのかも楽しめたセッションでした。

更に、新しいメンバーが横浜日吉に仲間入りしました。新しいメンバーが入ると新しい風も吹き込みます。これからどう変わっていくかも楽しみです。

さて、今後の例会予定ですが、6月は9日(月)オンライン、23日（月）はハイブリッド（会場は慶応大学構内の協生館）で開催されます。また、30日（月）にはオンラインにて特別例会も実施されます。特別例会では、今回のテーブルトピックスのお題だったAIについてのセミナーを予定しています。内容はAnnual Conferenceの教育セッションの1つでもありました「AIをスピーチに取り入れよう：ChatGPT活用３ステップ」です。明日から使える具体的な活用法など学べるセミナーとなっています。他クラブの方、トーストマスターズの会員でない方もゲストとしてご参加頂けますので、沢山の方のご参加をお待ちしています！参加希望の方はこちらまでお問い合わせください。

On Monday, May 26th, the 281st Yokohama Hiyoshi Toastmasters Club hybrid meeting was held.

Today, I would like to report by spotlighting the Table Topics (impromptu speech) Session. Because we are a bilingual club, we do our Table Topics Session once in Japanese and once in English each month. This time, it was done in English, and the topic was “AI”. It started off by the question, “How do you use AI in your daily life?” and went on to questions such as “What concerns do you have with AI?” It was an interesting topic, and we all enjoyed the session.

We also had an induction ceremony welcoming a new member. It is always exciting to have new member joining, and we all look forward to hearing the ice breaker speech in the near future.

Our next online meeting is scheduled on June 9th and the following is a hybrid meeting on the 23rd. Also, before we start the new term, we are planning to have a special meeting on the 30th. We have invited a speaker on the topic of “Let’s utilize AI for writing your speech: using 3 steps of ChatGPT”. This was one of the educational sessions in the Annual Conference 2025. On May 12th, 2025, the regular meeting was held online.
One guest participated in the meeting, and surprisingly, she declared to become a member. We are very happy to welcome her.
The meeting was rich in content and fun as usual, with one speech in English and the other in Japanese, followed by table topics.
Especially, the Japanese speech was an "Ice Breaker" speech by TM T. In her wonderful speech, she effectively explained her nature using "Tags". We had spent a precious time and enjoyed so much.

Report 274

2月25日(月)、第274回の例会がハイブリッド形式で開催されました。参加者は10名(内ゲスト1名)でした。
英語のスピーチが2本、日本語のスピーチが1本でした。
最初の英語スピーチは、Iさんの部屋の整頓に関するスピーチでした。時間が規定より短かったのが残念でした。2つ目の英語スピーチは、Mさんのエリアコンテストへのリハーサルスピーチでした。最適な時間が来るまで待ちましょうとのメッセージで、参加者からのコメントをもらい、エリアコンテストでの好成績を期待しています。
日本語スピーチもOさんのエリアコンテストへのリハーサルスピーチでした。ホテルマン時代のエピソードでした。貴重な学びをした体験のスピーチで、感銘を受けました。エリアコンテストでの好成績を期待しています。

The 274th meeting was held in a hybrid Style on Monday, February 25. There were 10 participants (including 1 guest).
There were two speeches in English and one in Japanese.
The first English speech was by TM I on keeping the room tidy, but unfortunately the time was shorter than the designated time. The second English speech was a rehearsal speech by TM M for the area contest. The message was to wait until the right moment. We look forward to a good result in the area contest.
The Japanese speech was also a rehearsal speech by TM O for area contest. It was an episode from his days as a hotel waiter. I was deeply impressed. We look forward to a good result in the area contest.
