The JET25 project has come to an end.
Let us reminisce... It all began in 2008 when JPIC was renamed and led by Dr. Yoshiaki Yokoi.
JET entered its second stage in 2015. The first JET2015, held at the newly opened Osaka Grand Front Congrès Convention Center, surpassed 2,000 participants for the first time under the presidency of Dr. Shinsuke Nanto. Many remember Dr. Nanto smiling as he unfolded the white paper by the secretary, Ms. Shimogama, announcing the number of participants at the closing ceremony.
As JET entered its second stage, we held onto our unwavering "convictions," striving to become the largest live course in the Asia Pacific from within Japan, aiming for 2,500 participants. We faced numerous challenges and exerted great efforts, with COVID-19 being just one of them. There were negative opinions about conducting the conference primarily in our imperfect English. Device issues arose repeatedly, requiring collective measures each time.
Through trial and error, we spent 10 years integrating LEAD, PAD, Aortic, AV access, Venous tracks with Medical Staff, live demonstrations, evidence and experience, young and seasoned professionals, hands-on sessions, new devices, hot topics, and adding a touch of JET's playful spirit. This year, the debut of JETBOX created an impressive space for discussion, with all tracks and times fully booked, lunch shortages, and official program booklets running out.
The JET logo centerpiece in the main hall was grand and majestic, with many presentations set to transform today's EVT practice. Ultimately, 2,512 participants attended, announced by President Osamu Iida at the very spot where his mentor, Dr. Shinsuke Nanto, announced 2,000 attendees a decade ago.
JET will enter its third stage next season. Many challenges and unimaginably long journeys await us, but JET will overcome them and reach remarkable conclusions again. I look forward to it. Join us on this journey. Next year, JET26 will be held from February 6th to 8th in Tokyo Haneda. Dr Masato Nakamura and Tatuya Nakama. We're looking forward to you.

少し昔話です…2008年にJPICから名前を変えて横井良明先生をリーダーに始まったJETが、第2ステージに入ったのが2015年でした。開業1年目の大阪グランフロント・コングレコンベンションセンターで、南都伸介先生を会長におこなったJET2015が初めて、2000人の参加者を超えました。南都会長が、閉会式で、事務局下釜さんから手渡された参加者数が掛かれた白い紙を広げて、ニコッとされたその瞬間を覚えている人も多いでしょう。
第二ステージに入ったJETは、その後に我々の決して譲れない”信念”として、日本国内からアジアパシフィック最大のライブコースを目標に、そして2500人の参加者を目標に、数多の苦労と努力を重ねてきました。COVID-19の問題はその一つでしかありません。我々のつたない英語を中心に会を行うことに否定的な意見があったことも否めません。デバイスの問題が起こり、その都度全員で対策したことも1つや2つではありません。試行錯誤の上で、LEAD,PADに加えAortic, AV access, VenousにMedical Staffを加えた6トラックをライブデモンストレーションはもとより、エビデンスとエクスペリエンス、若手とベテラン、ハンズオン、新しいデバイス、ホットトピックを融合し、そこにJETなりの遊び心を加える、という作業を10年してきました。
今年初めて登場したJETBOXはすごく印象的なスペースとディスカッションを生み、どのトラック、どの時間帯も満員札止め、ランチョンの弁当不足、そしてオフィシャルプログラム冊子が無くなるという状況が起こりました。メインホールに作ったロゴをあしらったJETのヘソは、壮大かつ荘厳で、多くのスピーカーの発表は、今日のEVT診療を変えることでしょう。最終的に2512人が参加したことを、会長の飯田修が発表したその場所は、彼の師匠である南都伸介先生が10年前に2000人を発表したまさにその場所でありました。
JETは来季から、第3ステージに入ります。また多くの困難と、苦悩と、想像しえない長い旅路が待っているでしょう、でもJETはそれを乗り越えてまた素晴らしい結論を出すでしょう。
