This morning, we had the amazing opportunity to be part of the Niseko Town Marathon! We helped runners recover and recharge with post-race massages, running advice and a stretching/rolling station.
As both a physiotherapist and a passionate runner, I love working with the running community. Runners make up a significant part of my practice, and over the past decade, I’ve been fortunate to work with athletes of all levels—from 5k enthusiasts to 100+ mile ultra-marathoners.
In my practice, I focus on treating and preventing common running injuries like achilles tendinopathy, plantar fasciitis, tibialis posterior tendinopathy and stress fractures. I always begin with a running assessment and gait analysis to get a better understanding of the athletes biomechanics. With thorough sports specific assessments, strength training, and recovery strategies, runners can overcome niggles and start to focus more on performance. Majority of my runners have injuries due to the inability of their tissue being able to handle high volumes of load. In laments terms… they need to get stronger.
It was also a pleasure to work an event with my colleague and friend . Excited for that’s to come.
