🌲✨ A torii gate standing proudly before a waterfall beautifully symbolizes two key aspects of Japanese spirituality, perfectly aligning with my Shinrin Yoku (forest bathing) practice:

1. Transition to the Sacred: The torii gate marks the passage from the everyday world to the divine realm of the kami (deities).

2. Purification: Flowing water, like the waterfall, represents purification in Shinto and Buddhist traditions.

This scene invites us to immerse ourselves in nature’s tranquility and reconnect with our inner selves. 🌿 Gratitude

San Dan Koyo (三段小葉)

- San Dan (三段): This translates to "three levels" or "three steps." In the context of nature and well-being, it symbolizes the journey of deepening our connection with the environment through various layers of experience.

- Koyo (小葉): This means "small leaves," representing the intricate details and beauty of nature that we often overlook. Small leaves are essential in ecosystems, reminding us of the importance of mindfulness and appreciation in our surroundings.

Together, "San Dan Koyo" encourages us to explore nature in layers, appreciating both the grand landscapes and the subtle details.

As we practice Shinrin Yoku (forest bathing), we embody this philosophy by immersing ourselves fully in the natural world, cultivating deeper awareness and connection.

A unique moment by the lake, surrounded by the vibrant colors of fall. We enjoyed a romantic boat ride, basking in the warm sunlight. What a privilege it is to live in such a beautiful place.
Truly grateful for this life and friends 🙏

Shinrin-Yoku, or "forest bathing," is more than just hugging trees.
It involves immersing oneself in a forest environment, engaging with nature through all the senses.
The practice emphasizes mindfulness and being present in the natural surroundings, which can promote relaxation and stress reduction.
Research has shown that spending time in nature can have numerous benefits for mental health, including reducing anxiety and improving mood. The act of connecting with nature can foster a sense of well-being and enhance one's overall quality of life.
Shinrin-Yoku encourages individuals to observe, listen, and feel the environment around them, creating a profound and enriching experience.
Retreats program for 2026 will follow.

Momiji, which refers to the Japanese maple tree, is especially significant during the fall season when the leaves change to vibrant shades of red, orange, and yellow.
This seasonal transformation, known as kōyō, is celebrated in Japan as a time for appreciating the beauty of nature.

During fall, many people participate in momijigari, or "maple leaf hunting," where they visit parks and mountains to witness the stunning foliage.

🍁 It’s a time for reflection, connecting with nature, and enjoying the outdoors with family and friends.

🍁 Many also take part in viewing festivals and events that celebrate this beautiful natural phenomenon.
