Biomimetic Concepts and Techniques in Direct & Indirect Restorative Dentistry
The term “Biomimetic” is derived from the combination of Bio (life) and Mimetic (imitation), referring to technologies that replicate the
superior functions and structures found in nature and apply them to engineering and medical fields.
When this concept is adapted to dentistry, it becomes Biomimetic Dentistry—an approach that seeks to restore teeth by mimicking their
natural biomechanics and structure.
With the remarkable advancement of adhesive dentistry, Biomimetic Dentistry continues to evolve, allowing more conservative and
biologically harmonious restorations.
In this presentation, I will introduce my clinical concept of Biomimetic Dentistry through both direct and indirect restorative procedures,
emphasizing the integration of adhesive principles and the biomechanical behavior of natural teeth.
