Nihon Dokan is an organization founded in 1980 by Grand Master Tenrai (Masao) Hayashima to spread Taoist teachings throughout Japan and the rest of the world. We have branches ("Tao institutes") in 10 locations in Japan. Each branch is staffed by Taoist instructors who have received training and certification from central headquarters. People of all ages gather to refresh their bodies and minds at our institutes, bringing greater joy and energy into their lives through various ki trainings. We are also increasing our contact and cooperation with Taoists in China, Taiwan, and other countries. Our efforts overseas include the establishment of Nihon Dokan International Beijing, in collaboration with the Beijing office of the World Academic Society of Medical Qigong, and participation in a joint Taoist arts exhibition in Tainan, Taiwan. As Nihon Dokan continues to grow, our focus is on deepening ties with Taoists of all countries and spreading the message of Taoism around the world.
