今年は5年に一度の国勢調査が行われます。
海外ルーツの方を含む、日本に住むすべての人と世帯が対象となっています。
This year is the once-every-five-years national census in Japan!
It covers everyone living in Japan, including those with roots overseas.
現在調査書類配布中で、調査日は10月1日、締切は10月8日。

【藤崎八旛宮例大祭に伴う交通規制】 2025年9月21日（日・祝）
Traffic Regulations Due to Fujisaki Hachiman Shrine Festival on Sept. 21, 2025

次の日曜日、熊本市内中心部は、例大祭に伴う交通規制が行われます。
Extensive traffic restrictions will be implemented in downtown Kumamoto next Sunday, September 21st, due to the annual Fujisaki Hachiman Shrine Festival.

朝随兵に関しては、藤崎宮周辺で午前5時から午後9時まで、上通りと下通の周辺で午前6時から午後1時ごろまで規制されます。また夕随兵に関しては、サクラマチバスターミナル周辺も含め、午後1時半ごろから午後9時頃まで、交通規制されます。
For the morning procession, expect traffic restrictions to be in effect from 5 AM to 9 PM around Fujisaki Shrine, and from 6 AM to around 1 PM in the vicinity of Kamitori and Shimotori Streets. The afternoon procession will cause traffic disruptions from approximately 1:30 PM to 9 PM, including the Sakuramachi Bus Terminal area.

それに伴い、バスの市電の運休・迂回運行も多く行われます。
As a result of these traffic regulations, numerous bus and tram services will be suspended or rerouted. Please plan your travel accordingly and expect significant delays.

【江戸の遊び絵づくし】＠熊本博物館（〜８月３１日）
Playful Prints of the Edo Period at Kumamoto City Museum (through August 31, 2025)

歌川国芳、広重などによる、ユーモアやアイディアに溢れた遊び絵の世界が広がります！「五子十童」は、頭は5つ、身体は10人！
It’s packed with clever and humorous ukiyo-e woodblock prints bursting with imagination!
You’ll see such intriguing images as a group of children with only five heads but ten bodies, or a single cat whose body is actually made up of many smaller cats.
These whimsical and creative prints, known as asobi-e or “playful pictures,” have been touring the nation — and Kumamoto is the only place in Kyushu where you can see them!

「ふ尽くしの福助」（眉は筆、耳は袋、着物は富士山など）、「鵜が泣くに濁点＝うなぎ」の判じ絵。
Discover works like the witty Fukusuke Full of Wordplays (his eyebrows are brushes, ears are bags, kimono is Mt. Fuji, and more), and clever picture riddles like “Unagi = a cormorant crying with a diacritical mark.”

手影絵チャレンジのコーナーもあれば、影絵の作品や、立体模型を作るための精巧な組上絵（くみあげえ）など、大人も子どもも楽しめる作品が並びます。
There’s also a hand shadow play challenge, shadow art displays, and elaborate kumiage-e (paper cutouts to assemble 3D models). Fun for both adults and children!

The Kumamoto Prefecture Disaster Volunteer Center is asking for your support with drink donations for the volunteers working in the affected areas.

As volunteers work in the scorching heat, measures against heatstroke are essential.

To ensure our volunteers can work safely, we have launched a drive for drinks like water, sports drinks, and barley tea using an "Amazon Wish List."

By selecting and purchasing an item from the Wish List, it will be delivered directly to the Volunteer Center and can be put to immediate use on-site.
