Sharing a stage with 150 “musicians” (young and old) is such a cool thing 😎
Budding musicians from the Philippines Suzuki Youth Orchestra, and students from 3 Suzuki music schools in HK joined forces to create this beautiful “Friendship Concert”.

In the current day and age, Music, Collaboration, Presence and Patience are so vital to our well being.

狮子山下 and Pachelbel’s Canon in D both hold special meaning to me and probably to many people.

At their core, it’s really about “Love is patient.”

The Invincible Power of Small, Daily Things 🎻

We’re now moving through the 9th Gene Key pulse—aligned with the I Ching’s 9th Hexagram—and I’m feeling its quiet theme deeply: how Determination blossoms into true Invincibility.

For three years, the cello has been my teacher. Not just in music, but in life. My daughter and I have learned one of the most humbling and empowering truths: invincibility is built in small, consistent acts.

As the founder of Gene Keys and poet Richard Rudd writes, “The power of determination is the power of repetition.”

Every practice begins the same — returning to the right posture, the right bow hold. It doesn’t matter if it shifts later. What matters is beginning again, correctly, consciously.

And every time I step on stage, my mind still trembles. But my teacher once told me something that changed everything:
“Your body will remember what your mind forgets.”

When nerves take over, it’s not your thinking brain that saves you — it’s the wisdom in your hands, your breath, your muscles, shaped by countless honest repetitions.

Yesterday my daughter and I officially graduated from Suzuki Cello Volume 2. When I performed on stage, I still made mistakes and gone blank.

But I’ve also learned to pause. To recalibrate. To trust that my body knows the way back — and to rejoin the music as though I never left.
That isn’t perfection. That’s invincibility.

And it doesn’t only happen in music.
It’s the spiritual power of showing up, again and again, in practice, in parenting, in inner work.

💫 Calmness under the heat 🔥

Matsumoto not only gave birth to the Suzuki Method music education, but also nurtured the soul of the avant-garde artist Yayoi Kusama - the queen of polka dots.

I carried the heavy cello under the great summer heat through the streets, whose ends lead to the Japanese mountain alps. There’s a feeling of embrace and serenity, perhaps much needed for a troubled yet creative soul like Kusama.

She said it was art that made her stay on earth. Her work continuously tests the limits of Life itself, and she will not cease such exploration until she dies.

She has named the exhibition at the Matsumoto City Museum of Art . I see the “place” a boundless space universally accessible to all human beings, when you are connected to your own soul.

Music and art are the greatest connector of souls. Such creates the calmness under the heat (which we call being a human).

Much has had to happen to bring me to Matsumoto, a city nestled by mountains and lesser known by typical travelers to Japan.

I started learning cello nearly 3 years ago with my daughter, through the Suzuki Method, a not so common approach (in China) to learning string instruments.
It takes much more patience, and by no means a “Grade 5 in 3 years” musical path.
But what I’ve learned is something that applies to life in general.

Love is patient.
Patience is love.

And as Dr Suzuki’s famous saying goes:
“When love is deep much can be accomplished.”

I had the luck to visit his house today. The memorial house carries a sense of order, restraint and patience.
Trust in the natural potential in every child (human being). Just keep nurture it and it’ll flower eventually.

At the opening talk to the summer camp, a faculty teacher said:
“Everyone here knows at least 2 languages.
One is your mother tongue, the other the language of music.”

It’s the truth.
Being one of few international students in this summer camp (74th year!), I couldn’t understand 98% of what’s being spoken by the teachers in class. But it didn’t really affect the learning.
When the music is played, I understand what I need to do.
We all know this same language.
When 40+ cellists, from 4 years old to 40 years old, played the same songs together, in harmony, it is one of the beautiful things that music creates —

☀️ Waking up to a cup of tea 🍵

Recently, I have learnt to wake up 6am and drink tea. Not the normal tea, but precious tea from old trees in the virgin forests Sichuan.
Such tea can only be drunk in small sip with full awareness & conscious breathing.
This morning, as I watched the smoke from the candle and steam from the tea rising above, I felt that drinking tea is actually a conversation with “the above”.

And such feeling is synchronistic with the energy that Gene Key 45 is bringing in - Cosmic Communion.
There’s a higher order in another dimension, making the world unfeasibly beautiful.

We are creating joy and laughter through the sound of many cellos!

In today’s end of term group concert, we play together and commune in music 🎉

Guess what! We are perfectly in tune (pun intended) with the cosmic music — the pulse of Gene Key 45, with the Gift of Synergy and Siddhi of Communion.

In resonance we learn, creat and connect.

Hi! It’s been a while since my last post. There was always the nudge to share - a flash of insight, a feeling of love, but I just kept postponing, or simply let the thought or feeling passed.

But the longer I’ve been silent, the harder for me to break the silence.

But today I found the trick.

It’s called “Now is a good time”.

The synchronicity to realize the power of “Now” was simply amazing. I went to a nearby cafe to have breakfast by myself, which rarely(never!) happened, because this morning I felt I needed an open space to work towards a deadline.

Then it occurred to me we just entered the Gemini ♊️ season 12 hours ago. Gemini is an Air sign that loves to connect and “neighbourhood” is its comfort zone.

We are also in the frequency of THE NOW with the 20th Gene Key in transit. It’s the path to Presence.

“Now is where love breathes,” as Rumi said.

So to break the silence, I just need to say what’s in the Now, the present moment. I don’t need to “catch up” on the past.

The connection only happens in the Now.

We are deep in the season of Scorpio♏, which is about intensity & intimacy, diving deep & facing shadows, death & rebirth. These words don't sound easy breezy; we are approaching winter (in northern hemisphere), so the wind is definitely getting colder and harder, like cutting into our skin. That's what Scorpio feels like. Whatever it touches, it leaves an imprint on you. And it's your work to learn to let go and transform pain into light.

From Nov 6-10, the sun is transitting in Gene Key 1, which is the very first gene key in the book of life inside you. It is dedicated to creativity, the unabridled impulse to create something out of nothing, to draw freshness out of the void . In the Chinese I-Ching, the first hexagram is the most Yang of all 64 hexagrams. It's the source of light.

But if you understand a bit about life, there's no Yang without Yin, and this is also the central ethos of I-Ching, aka the Book of Change, that everything is within the circle of the constant dance of Yin and Yang. This translates into the golden principle of the Gene Keys which is founded on the wisdom of the I-Ching.

Every shadow contains a gift.

Yin is the cosmic womb, open, receiving and absorbing. Yin is the container of all things living and breathing.

On Nov 8th/9th, the powerful Ta**us Lunar Eclipse will precisely reflect this beautiful dance of pure Yin (Full Moon in Ta**us, Gene Key 2) and pure Yang (Sun in Scorpio, Gene Key 1) and carry a similar cosmic message -
