The tendency to change sexual partners is one of many risks leading to sexually transmitted diseases.
People who frequently change sexual partners are also not immune to the risk of contracting sexually transmitted diseases. The CDC estimates that at least 19 million new cases of sexually transmitted infections occur each year. The most common diseases are gonorrhea, syphilis, and chlamydial infections. However, the most common of these is infection with the human papillomavirus (HPV).
