Welcome in 2025 with me! Next month, Liz Delaney and I teaming up to offer a 2-part workshop series designed for anyone wanting to start their year on the right track. During part 1, on Jan 18th, you'll hear about my adventures in the African bush and will be introduced to Boyd Varty's profound book The Lion Tracker's Guide to Life. Then, during our 2nd meet-up on Feb 15th, we'll discuss some of the lessons in the book and Liz will share coaching insights she learned from Martha Beck Institute, the same coach that trained Varty. Had a great catch up chat with Nick Murray, founder of this afternoon! So happy to hear that Boswell, Tusker, Fred and the other semi-resident elephants are all doing really well, especially despite the ongoing drought! It's truly amazing to me how this organization can do such mighty works and remain relatively small on the ground! They have been maintaining the anti-poaching team, assisting in Veterinary functions, providing collars - essential in tracking wildlife, helping with community education projects, assisting in human-wildlife conflict situations and most recently, provided much needed relief to the community by supplying hay for bordering cattle farms due to the lack thereof caused by the drought. I certainly can't wait to return again to Mana Pools and hope the rains arrive soon for this magical and beautiful part of the world! 🐘💙🐘

Did you know that there are only 2 northern white rhinos remaining in the entire world? 🦏 One. 🦏 Two. That's it. Their names are Najin and Fatu. These beauties grew up and lived most of their lives in a zoo, until they were moved to Kenya in 2009, where they remain today and at Ol Pejeta Conservancy.

While, unfortunately, neither of them are able to reproduce, there is massively impressive work being done by an international team of scientists and conservationists with to prolong the species. Through the complicated processes of in-vitro fertilization, embryo transfer, and surrogate pregnancy there is hope for these girls, yet. 🙏 Please follow to follow their stories!

Celebrating World Rhino Day and the magnificence of these beautiful, gentle giants! 🌍🦏🎉 Did you know rhinos are considered to be a keystone species? This means their presence and role within an ecosystem has a tremendous effect on other organisms within the system. They maintain the diverse African grass and woodlands on which countless other species depend. They basically landscape and manicure the savannahs and forests they live in and share with a multitude of other plant and animal species. They also play a critical role in the biodiversity and the resiliency of an ecosystem. 🐆🌱🦏🌳🐘

Spending real, quality, time with some of the elephants in Mana Pools was such an unbelievable and amazing experience. Walking with them, feeling their graceful steps, hearing them communicate, noticing their confidence and experiencing their knowledge was something I will never forget. They have such powerful emotions and I could actually see and feel so many of them - witnessing them think, calculate, maneuver, strategize, act, show curiosity, respond, process, sleep, snore, manipulate others, become alarmed, soften, accept, have fun, play in water, throw dust, desire and even trust - it was by far one of the most incredible weeks of my life. I've been so intrigued by these beautiful and gentle giants for as long as I can remember and for the first time I really gained a deeper understanding of their world. The remarkable people at Bushlife Conservancy have done an amazing job protecting them and giving back to the people who live with and care for them. I know that I'm so lucky and fortunate to have had this time and am so grateful for every second. , , and provided me and everyone from with such beautiful memories and I cannot wait to return again soon! 🐘🇿🇼❤️
